Hello all,

I started to really get my arcade cabinet working. I am tring to get all my games to work. It seems that when use mame32.exe in windows I am able to see my Neo-Geo Roms, but when I use Gameex none of the neo-geo roms are on the game list.

Is there something I need to do to get it to see those game.

I hope someone can help me out.

THANKS!

...and you have the neo-geo roms in the same directory as your other roms?

Try to do gamelist update.

Yes and it still doesn't seem them.

Your likely missing the latest Neo Geo BIOS, and the games wont verify when updating the list (because you dont have the correct BIOS)

You can force GameEx not to verify, by changing the setting under Advanced MAME settings in the config.

I would always recomend not letting gameex verify roms, thats what clrmamepro is for and it helps fix issues too. Speeds up making the gamelist 4x.

I've never been able to figure out clrmame. Whenever I launch it, the best I can do is scan roms. But it gives me all kinds of errors. Even after I've downloaded a complete rom set through a torrent that's been verified to be clrmame'd already. I know there's instructions out there but I can't make heads or tails with them. They even have .dat's for stuff like the artwork, but I haven't even gotten that far yet. Any helps?

clrmamepro's not hard to use at all.

Set up a profile by clicking CREATE...

In the top field, browse to your MAME .exe

Under Description, type MAME .106 or whatever you're using

Under Emulator select MAME

Click CREATE

Select SETTINGS on the next window and input your file paths.

Click OK.

Select SCANNER on the main window.

Check boxes on the left to scan whatever you want to scan for.

If you want clrmamepro to fix errors it finds, click the boxes on the right.

Select any other options you would like and click SCAN.

If you didn't ask it to fix errors, feel free to look at the notes - it'll tell you what's wrong with each file.

You should have it made from there. :)

Any other questions feel free to ask. :)

Your instructions, blunt as they are, are exactly what I usually did. But when I'd run the scanner, it would come back with almost every single rom being incorrectly named, etc. How can this be if it's a complete download from somebody who's also ran clrmamepro on the set?

As you know, MAME changes titles and such with each release. Sizes and needed files also change. Fact is it could have checked out for MAME 0.101 and you're updated to 0.106 if you get what I'm saying. The MAME team makes so many changes with each release, it's impossible to say how many errors clrmamepro will find with each release.

If all your games are running, back them up before you try updating. You might find after fixing the 'errors' it finds will add another load of games to your list.

Hope that helps. :)

Ok i'll check into again after I get my machine back up. I'm like 99% there, and believe I've fixed the final problem. Just want to do another full night's worth of burnin testing to make sure. Then I'm going to start the GameEx installation and setting up my emulators again. I have them all backed up on another drive, and I exported all their configs from GameEx so I just have to import them after I reinstall (a great addition by the way TOM). :)
