Does anyone know if it is possible to change the picture display on a dell p1130 vga monitor from its current horizontal view to a vertical display,ie-rotate the picture 90 degrees.

I have looked everywhere in the settings and on the display control panel but cant find anywhere where this could be done.

Maybe you know how to do this.

I want to mount this monitor in vertically in my new cocktail cab so that i have one for the horizontal games and the new one for vertical games.

Please help me. :(

Try Display Settings/Rotate Display in configuration

Also, the Tab key is a hot key and will rotate 90,-90,0 degrees iteratively.

Note: Currently there is a resolution limit of 800x600 for rotations. This is apparently because of performance considerations. I'm trying to get Tom to relax this condition, because if you've got a fast PC and just use GameEx for CAB game launching you can run in a higher resolution vertically with a PC monitor with little problem.

Thanks,rotation worked a treat.

I was trying to do this in windows xp itself-didnt think to look in gameex config.

One problem though is now when gameex starts or you scroll through lists it is very slow.Game play is still excellent.

Is there any other setting to enable more smooth flow ,like it was before i rotated the monitor 90 degrees.

Thankyou very much for your help. :D

The slowness is the performance problem I mentioned. Something to do with DirectX I think. It depends on your PC spec somewhat and maybe even the graphics card. For me, it's fast enough even in 1600x1200 vertical. You could try lowering the resolution further and/or using 16-bit color (via the gameex config again).

If you want to rotate your windows use, you might need to download special drivers for your video card.

Omega Drivers are available for ATI Radeon, Nvidia GF and 3dfx. You will then be able to rotate your screen as you like.
