Rom updating very long

is it normal that the update is so long??

About 45 minutes with a complete set 0.103

With mame32, it take about 5 minutes

Its normal. GameEx does a lot more than what MAME32 does when updating.

Yes, yourll get a big improvement by changing these two settings.

Turn off Verify Roms.

Make sure MAMEInfo.dat setting is blank.

Your' lose recommended games, and unless you've verified your roms in a rom tool, a few games may be listed that won't run.
