I am trying to incorporate a nes emu in gamex, I am running mame and added nesterj to the nes emu page(i also tried fce) the problem I am having is what to put in the "command line" area. I put in the command line which was nnnesterJ.exe and when I launched gameex under the "emulated games" nester showed up with all the roms but when I try to launch a game the screen stays blank, is there something I am missing. thanks

Ha! Interesting way of posting your configs. ;)

Easy solution:

Command Line: nnnesterJ.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

Try that. I bet it gets your game started. :)

Hope that helps.

Okay.

Quotes certainly need to be there so leave them in.

I noticed your working path - is that the root folder for your emulator?

Also, make sure the path you specified for ROMs is correct.

If you're still having issues, try NEStopia and I'll give you a working .ini / .cfg file and tell you what you need to change to make it work.

:EDIT: I'm setting up NesterJ right now. I'll see if I can get it working locally and post my settings for you.

Hope that helps! :)

Sure! :)

First things first: Go download the emulator (unless you're using NesterJ 0.51a).

If you want to import the .ini directly without making any path changes in the .ini I'm about to give you, you should extract the contents of the zip to C:\EMULATORS\

Make sure that you change the 'Working Path' in the emulator setup if you extract to another location.

Next... Download the GameEx config here for Nester J and extract it to the following directory:

C:\Program Files\GameEx\CONFIG\EMULATORS\IMPORT-EXPORT

(Note: This is your default GameEx installation directory. If you installed it somewhere else, change the path accordingly.)

Nowrun NesterJ.exe and pull down the Options menu.

Under the Graphics tab, put a check into the box that reads 'Switch to fullscreen on ROM load'

Also, configure your game pad and change your file paths as needed.

Next, open the GameEx configurations menu: START->All Programs->GameEx->Configuration

Select the number you want to use: Emulator 5 for example. Open the page and you will see the following on the next page:

Enabled - YES

Import Emulator - NesterJ (If you extracted the GameEx zip I had you download to the right directory, it should be right there in the pull down menu)

Input your File Paths (ie ROM files, snaps, cartridges, etc)

Click SAVE on the bottom of your screen and exit configuration.

Open GameEx and you should be able to use the emulator and run your NES roms by selecting them from the NES list.

Hope that helps! :)
