For registered users - GameEx now has complete automatic update functionality

It detects if a new stable version is available and if enabled, automatically downloads and performs an automated install next time GameEx is run

No user interaction is required whatsoever, and it does not require a reboot

It also only downloads the full 18MB themes package when your using them and then only when they have changed

Be aware this feature is enabled by default under Enable/Disable settings

The startup video can now be a relative path

Fixes V2 themes when GameEx set to not switch resolution

Create MAME videos now creates videos so that every game in the list shows one

Automatic updates? Fantastic!

I just noticed that the 'hide toolbar' function isn't working with V2, it sets the toolbar to be visible at all times, working fine with V1 themes.

Just an idea to throw at you Tom. You could have a little "install launcher" application that you launch from GameEx, then exit, the install launcher program will then launch the installer and wait for the process to end. After the install process ends it could launch GameEx again and exit itself that way you wouldn't need to reboot or shutdown GameEx manually to install the new version.

If you've installed this version, can you please reply here. As from now on Auto updates are going to happen for reged users, and I'd like some feedback on the first release with it. Don't worry I spent days testing its stable.

I installed 6.09, havent used the automiatic update though, ive had it switched off.
