i updated project 64 to 2.1 yesterday and now it wont launch in game ex but does outside game ex and am wondering if this or similar issue is my problem with that file or different folder in the new download.

I split your response to the resolved issue that was originally reported by Krakerman. When reporting a possible bug or error, please submit a copy of the following files so we may quickly assist you:

For GameEx - gameex.ini and log.txt (Click here for additional information on how to find these files and others that may be required).

When you have an emulator that launches outside of GameEx but not within GameEx the problem is almost always related to your commend line (unless you're launching it outside of GameEx from the command prompt in which case it will likely be some other setting within your GameEx emulator config). I seem to recall that Project 64 had some subtle (but operationally significant) changes to their command parameters in one of the more recent releases (I think it may have been documented here, but YMMV).

If you continue to have problems, please post a copy of your Emulator config and we can take a look at what you've got. Thanks man!

Yeah I googled it and seems to be the rom path/rom file needs quotes now but didn't in previous releases like 1.6 I updated from. Not near game to test it but did not change anything in game ex just thought update would not change as others I updated last nite didn't. Log didn't show anything either but will try it later and post those if added quotes in the command line doesn't do it, I hear a windows error beep and the screen stays black if that matters, but can't see the windows error message after I escape the emulator, thanks
