EA Origin "On the House" Current Freebies

EA Origin "On the House" is giving away Battlefield 3 and Plants vs. Zombies. Of course you have to have an EA Origins account and the Origin app installed (similar to Steam).

Origin is kinda like Steam ... except 100% more useless and buggy. But ... they do occasionally give away free games. So on that basis it's a nice thing to keep in your back pocket.

I actually have no issues with Origin, other than it's very bland, and well there is the whole EA thing!!! I recall when Steam first rolled out, and man talk about rough around the edges, it was horrible, but now it is polished and praised.

I grabbed the plants/zombies game as soon as it was announced. Good laptop game for passing time, if you find yourself in that position. I've got all of BF3, but was turned off of the CoD style release schedule they adopted with BF4, so I took a pass on 4. BF3 is pretty good, but BF BC2 was better IMO.

I was probably a bit harsh in my previous assessment. I'm probably butt hurt after having it crash on me a couple times after I first installed it. That was a long time ago though, and I've never had any issues with it since.

For that matter a lot of people cry foul over the "perceived evils" of uPlay (the UbiSoft game service) as well, but I've always found that service to run perfectly fine with nary a hiccup.
