As the title says, some games such as FORCED requires users to use the launcher/config before entering the game. This requires that I run up to the mouse and click play/launch before I can carry onto the game using solely the handheld controller. Is there a way around this? If someone can be kindly as to direct me to the thread if one already exists. Thanks.

Hi Yaodi and welcome to the forums!

There are a couple of ways to bypass launchers (workaround is more accurate of a term) in GameEx. The first and arguably the simplest is to use the Keys To Send option. This can be found in Advanced Emulator Setup. Using this option you just tell what key to send after launching. For instance if your launcher loads, and all you need to do is press Enter on your keyboard, then that would be the key to send. You may also find that Wait Before Keys is useful using this method. What this will do is wait for a time you set (in milliseconds) before sending the key.

So, lets say typically the launcher takes 3 seconds to load, after which you press Enter to load the game. We tell GameEx to wait 3 seconds (3000 milliseconds) then send the Enter key:

Wait Before Keys: 3000

Keys To Send: ENTER

Another way would be to use mapping software to map the keys you need to your controls. This way you can just press a button combo etc on your pad/buttons to remove any need for a keyboard. In that regard i would recommend Xpadder. Our Plugin guru Adultery, has developed a plugin that makes using Xpadder an absolute breeze to use with GameEx and comes highly recommended personally by me, and many others here.

Another option if it is for a specific game, is to use a built in switch using the command line that is designed purposely to bypass the launcher entirely. This will depend entirely on the game itself though, and whether the devs of said game included such options.

Whichever method you choose or whatever game you need to get running - we will help ;)

Thanks Dazzle. Worked like a charm. I used the first option you listed.

Edit: By the way, I am quite literal, so I enter "Enter" verbatim into the 'keys to send'; turns out that was what the command typed. Found out I actually had to put the code for 'Enter' into the field. And thank you for the warm welcome. Cheers.

I kind of did that deliberately, so you would use your initiative. :) It's the best weapon you have if your are going to persue emulation ;) If you want more clicky. Anything else you need just holla ^_^
