Hey guys,

I am working on my DEmul setup now, and realized there are some things that need some tweaking here. The help file says the database file should be in access format, but the db3 tag makes me think it is SQLite. I don't really want to hork it up, so I figured I would ask. Afterwards I tidy up the database, is there somewhere I can upload it to make it into future builds? No sense in other people having to redo the work.

Also, there are a number of pretty common settings that can be tweaked in the demul.ini (file location being a big one), along with what are now common settings. Would it be possible to add that to the emulator menu to make adjustments from within GameEX?

Also, last question I promise, is there a way I can set it to search for DEmul roms and only populate the entries that exist like we do for MAME?

Cheers!

As for databases, you are right, it's sqlite if you wanted to make edits. Feel free to share then when you're finished as well. :-)

Either use RomCenter Or ClearMamePro to create a seperate set of roms, just use a mapfile in GameEx.

So... I am now stumped. I went through the map file and the databases. They look correct. But inside of GE, I am getting some things that don't line up.

Best example I can give is this:

Under Emulated Games > [Arcade] Sega Naomi

There are 2 Entries that baffler the crap out of me

-Marvel vs. Capcom 2

-Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes

The kicker is that the first entry is correct and displays as Genre Fighting. 2000 Capcom Co., Ltd. and is the correct one to launch

The second entry is actually point at house of the dead 2 and shows Shooter. 1999 Sega Inc. and the pop up for it accurately describes house of the dead 2. This is why I though something was screwy in the map files or db.

When I turn off "Use Database Names" this goes away =)

Any ideas where to start looking, and is there a good way to spit a screenshot out of GE?

I will be creating separate MAP files since we have to load the games with different command line options, and GE has already separated that into 2 emulators. So updating the map file should fix the issue where Naomi games show up under Atomiswave and the opposite. Probably wont get to finish that tonight, but if I don't I will polish it off tomorrow.

Very nice from you and i am interested in this. many people say DEmul is not needed anymore, because the games are in MAME and working.

This is true, but performance of these games is very poor under MAME, i.e. Crazy Taxi.

Keep the good work up ;)

Hmmm Marvel vs. Capcom 2 certainly doesn't work in mame =). There may very well be a time when it is not necessary though. Last I read on mamedev is that they aren't all that interested in fixing Naomi, because there are so many viable alteratives.

What program did you use to edit the database file? I was thinking about working on a few.
