Question: How to display a control panel layout for emulators?

Hi there!

On the gameex setup, on advanced emulator configuration, I can set the path where controls are located, so if there's a png file (or jpg) with the name of the game, it should display it.

So far, so good, but on the tooltip it also says you can define a single picture for all games.

I want to set a layout for my console games, and for NES or future pinball, it's just the same layout for every game.

I tried setting the picture name to default.png just in case, but it didn't work.

I tried looking for some hint about it, and no luck at all.

So... how can you set a single picture as default layout for all items inside an emulated system?

Hi helpman

In order to set a single controller (or CP) image for all games under a single emulator you would just set the Controls Path on teh Advanced Emulator Setup to point to a single image file. Please note that the Browse ('...') button on this field will not actually let you select an image, only a directory - so you may need to enter the name of your image after having selected the directory.

A couple notes. The directory path must be fully qualified, so rather than simply entering default.png, you would need to enter c:\My_Directory\default.png (which assumes that you have an image in that directory called default.png). The directory where you store this can be anywhere you choose and the image itself can be called anything you like.

Also bear in mind that this is an all or nothing proposition. If you enter a single controller image as the Controls Path, that image will display for all games. You can't have a few game specific controller images and a fallback default image which displays for everything else. You have to use either all game specific images or a single image that displays for everything.

Good luck man.
