Hey all! I'm new to GameEX and was hoping someone could give me a sample of how GameEX works with Marquee Magician, maybe a config? I used the Extender and it looks great but I wanted to be able to display multiple static images on my second monitor. Right now I'm working with the Atari 2600 System and I can't seem to get Marquee Magician to work with GameEX. I think I had to setup a commandline in the Wizard for the Atari 2600. I just finished setting up a different frontend (took me 6 months) and now I'm debating on whether I should move everything over to GameEX. If I can get the second monitor working it would be enough for me to switch and pay for the full FE. Thanks for any help in advance!

BTW, is it possible for the images to change with the games as you scroll or does MM just work ingame? I'd like the images and maybe game description which GameEX shows for each game to be displayed on the second monitor...

There is a pdf file in the Marquee Magician download that should get you started on uding Marquee Magician. I fyou get hung up, let me know.

Displaying images while in the gameslist is not, and will not be supported. The reason is that it created issues with stealing focus from GameEx.

Thanks Tempest. I went through the pdf a few times. I'd like to get MM working outside GameEX first so I understand it a bit better. I create a new template by opening a new window, chose a folder of images (Atari 2600 Covers and a default backup image) and label the system and template name A2600. I created a .bat file to run Stella and MM together:

Stella.lnk Adventure.a26 C:\MM\mm.exe "A2600" "[Rom]"

If I just keep "Stella.lnk Adventure.a26" the game runs

If I just keep C:\MM\mm.exe "A2600" "[Rom]" Marquee Magician Runs with my default image. What would be the correct commandline to get the two working together when a game is launched? If I could get the one game working with MM I could probably figure out the rest. I try to do stuff with a .bat because it helps me understand what I'm doing better, even though I have a lot to learn yet about commandlines...Thanks a lot in advance!

You need to use the path and filename instead of [ROM]. [Rom] is a GameEx variable, which would be empty in your example.

Thanks, I tried this and some variations but it doesn't work

Stella.lnk Adventure.a26 C:\MM\mm.exe "A2600" C:\Adventure.a26

What do I need to change?

Update: I got this command to bring up the cover on my second monitor.

C:\MM\mm.exe "A2600" "Adventure (1978) (Atari).a26"

When I add to the bat:

Stella.lnk "Adventure (1978) (Atari).a26"

The second monitor flashes and the box from MM appears but has my default picture which is not the correct resolution. Is Stella affecting my second monitor or is this a Mm issue? Thanks!
