So Project64 2.0 is out with apparently a lot of fixes increasing the compatibility wich was already good.

But there is a problem : command line options are not working anymore.

It seems to be introduced since the 1.7 beta version.

The option to start the emulation fullscreen has disappeared too...

Quite annoying as i think it's a good release...

I just wanted to know if a loader exist, replacing the command line options

I've read but i don't remember where that some users have done a loader for versions 1.7+

Is anyone aware of that?

Is someone using Project64 1.7 or 2.0 within Gameex and what is your setup, please?

Thanks

From what I found here, there are some command line examples. It notes not to use quotes and GameEx supports this. Per the authors there are no other command line options. As for Full Screen support, you may want to refer to this thread. If that does not work, you may want to check on the PJ64 forums to see if there is a plguin that is compatible with the new release.

Just tried out Project64 2.0 on my GameEx setup. Seems the new command line does require "quotes" other then that, nothing different as far as getting the emu to work within the FE.

Yes, quotes wasn't needed before

With quotes it works

And for the fullscreen option, you're right too....the thread mentionned gives the solution

As it was a long time PJ64 wasn't updated, i was not remembering where to check for fullscreen at start of emulation

Thanks to all of you

Well I tried this briefly when I got home. The fullscreen option is where it always has been, that hasn't changed. But what has changed is the controller mapping. While I like having a pic of the controller to make mapping easier for my XBOX360 controller. You can't use all the buttons on it, notably the Dpad. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future release.

I have no issues using the D pad on my 360 controller. Try a different Input plugin.

I had to grab the plugin from my old PJ64 setup as my dpad wasnt working as well. I think it was the Jabo7 plugin or something, ill have to turn my cab on for the actual name. BUT when i ran PJ64 2.0, got BSOD. For real, crashed my system. Delete it went.

The plugin In question is included with Project64 2.0. I'm not near my Game Ex setup at the moment, so I don't have the name. I'll post back when I get home and am able to find out. Have you tried all the input plugins DJ Infinity?

No I havent but when I get home I'ma try something called Nrage?

Yes. NRage 2.0 was the plugin I was thinking of. Is it working for you?

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me change the command line so that I can use GameEx with Project 64 2.0. I've installed it and Im getting that error where I need to change to command line to one without the quotes. Thanks very much

Hi, yeah I was wondering if you could explain how I would make these changes? Sorry if I'm coming across a bit noobish here

Hi 05woodc and welcome to the GameEx forums!

We'll get to your command line question, but first lets cover a few of of the basic steps:

  • Before you even start configuring an emulator in GameEx, you'll want to make sure the emulator is running on its own outside of GameEx. If you can test the emulator outside of GameEx via the command line, that's even better (but not necessarily required)
  • So next you'll open up the Setup Wizard the Setup Wizard and create a new slot for your emulator using the on the Emulator Selection screen.
  • So after adding your emulator you'll want to get it configured on the In the Setup Wizard Emulator Setup screen (as well as the Advanced Emulator Setup screen).

So you've completed all of the above, so let's get back around to that command line question. On the Emulator Setup screen you'll see a field called Command Line. For Project64 you would simply enter the above command verbatum.

Project64.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

And assuming you've configured all your paths correctly, that should be all there is to it. I should qualify this to say that I've not yet made the jump to Project64 2.x, but assuming that command is functional that should put you on the right track.

So what if it doesn't? Well you can report back right here (or start a new thread). If you need to seek assistance I would suggest that you post your Project64 emulator config, your GameEx log after attempting to run Project64, and your runitgame.bat. Those files will go along way towards helping us to assist you with any troubleshooting any issues you may encounter. The instructions for how to access the troubleshooting files can be found in the How To Ask For Help thread.

Thanks woodsy, and good luck!
