Instant Sheller question

I just downloaded and set up the shelled option to go right to game ex on start up. It works great and goes right into gameex. However, I cannot seem to find a way to get back to windows now. When I exit gameex, my screen just stays black. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong... Thanks.

I was able to ctrl+alt+del on the black screen and get into my task manager. From there, I started the Instantsheller program by way of a process. I then was able to 'undo changes' and I am back to full functionality within windows after a reboot. I still would like to use the instant sheller. Is there a way to use the program, but still easily transition to windows from gameex?? I have stuff on here that I like to use once in awhile, other than gameex (sorry Tom, haha). Is the sheller just an option for those looking to only run gameex?

Hi there,

InstantSheller is permanent until you activate it again (in other words deactivate it), this is expected behavior and is what the sheller is intended for

There are a few ways to it, one such way is:

Press win+r (hold the windows button and tap the "R" letter) in the run box enter explorer.exe

This will start Windows Explorer, from here you'll need to navigate with your keyboard to where you have instansheller stored, highlight the .exe and hit enter to run it again, which should restore windows to how it should be

To be honest though, if you need to restore windows on a regular basis then InstantSheller probably isn't what you need.

You could add InstantSheller as an external app, that way you will have a menu entry for it inside GE. Alternatively add the few apps you say you like to use occasionally to GE.

There is an option in GameEx to run a program upon exit. You can set explorer.exe to run from there.
