[RESOLVED] Steam integration not working, at my wits end.

Thank you for this wonderful product. I have a couple kinks to work out but i'm loving it so far. I'm hoping this community is active as I really could use some help.

Steam integration is the feature that really was the deciding factor in my choosing Gameex as my front end. Unfortunately I have yet to get that feature to work. I am not using custom menus or anything other than standard default installation.

Steam does not show up as an option anywhere in my menu within Gameex. I have triple checked my name and password in the setup wizard.

I have Steam installed on my C/ drive. I have my Steam library installed on my F/ drive. I have tried Gameex on each of these drives and still no steam. I also installed a Steam game to the default Steam library on the C/ drive thinking that maybe Gameex required everything to be together on one drive but still no luck.

Please help me. Thank you for your time.

In reviewing the gameex.ini file I noted the following:

LoginToSteam=False

Make sure this is showing Enabled, if not, change it, save, and try loading GameEx again. Alternately, load the Gameex.ini file into Notepad and change the setting LoginToSteam=False to LoginToSteam=True , then save and load GameEx again and report back.

Perhaps worth mentioning; My C drive is a smaller SSD, while F is a larger HDD. There's plenty of room on both drives but ultimately what I wanted to do was put Steam and GameEx (just the applications and necessary files) on the SSD but have all the content (Steam library, emulator assets and roms) on the F drive so as not to fill up my SSD with content. This is a moot point at the moment as I just want to get things working and then once i'm certain it works I will implement phase 2 of my plan, which is to unlock the paid version of GameEx and start customizing my installation.

For now, I dont care which drive this stuff is on. I will probably eventually uninstall all of it from C and put it all on F but I still need to get it all straight in my head.

Oh my god! I feel like an idiot. I should have looked into that as a possibility. First thing after work this evening I will register. I do have one more inquiry and I don't know if I should make a new post so i'll take a shot here. With the above mentioned directory structure, how difficult would it be to have gameEx and perhaps emulators installed on C but have roms, assets, artowrk, etc... all on my F drive? Do you recommend against spreading things out like this? My logic is that applications run better on the solid state drive but it's a smaller drive and I dont want to fill it up with massive GBs of roms and multimedia. Also, my obsessive compulsive disorder makes me want to have things very cleanly and clearly set up. I'm curious what other people's directory structures look like.

Draco, Thank you so much for your time.

Hi Mreitz775 and welcome to the GameEx forums!

I actually run a configuration similar to the one you describe (GameEx installed on a small SSD boot drive, ROMs, Artwork etc. allocated to a 2TB fat boy). It works like a champ. You should have no issues separating your media, from your ROMs, from your emulators, from GameEx, etc. GameEx is very configurable in terms of directory locations, and you should be able to store just about anything where you see fit. Some users have even had great success storing various system components on network storage.

Good luck, and we're here to assist if you run into any rough patches. Look forward to seeing you around. :)

Thank you for the response and the welcome.

I am going to go ahead and set it up. I have some small hiccups in the setup process that I will hopefully be able to overcome on my own. If not, you will be seeing more of me.
