my tweaks/performance settings don't appear to save, when i tick very high for system configuration it is back on medium whenever i re run the setup wizard. i also just paid for lifetime membership to emumovies and can't get psx vids working, the rest work just not psx and yeas the directory is correct and the names are correct

I remember this setting being reported not saving a very long time ago. I guess a fix was never released. The settings themselves are saved but In Setup Wizard, the visual of it is not. So it is purely cosmetic. So no worries as far as that.

Now for vids, we recommend downloading the Shark007's codec pack. Required downloads will depend on on you Operating System (Which I see is the Windows 7).

ok got vids working but when i play a couple (scrolling through list) they stop working screen goes black except for text and when i quit gameex it hangs having to be killed by task manager i am reposting log file after getting videos working

I remember this setting being reported not saving a very long time ago. I guess a fix was never released. The settings themselves are saved but In Setup Wizard, the visual of it is not. So it is purely cosmetic. So no worries as far as that.

Now for vids, we recommend downloading the Shark007's codec pack. Required downloads will depend on on you Operating System (Which I see is the Windows 7).

Yeah, it sounds like you've got some sort of codec issue going on. I'll second fReq's suggestion on the Shark007 codec pack. We've got a bunch of users running it with fantastic results.

that seems to have done it, sorry for all the roadblocks im having i've been configuring gameex for like a week now and i just started the video renaming process if i automatically download video snaps through gameex does it rename them to match my games or no? i am currently using fat renamer just wondering if it would save me some time. what "naming" scheme (no intro, good name etc) does emumovies use

AFAIK EmuMovies has official support for the following naming conventions: No Intro, Good Sets, TOSEC, and ReDump. I've also had it match up just fine with some various wacky scene naming conventions. GameEx (and the download utility) will run a matching routine against your game names prior to downloading. Then it renames the downloaded files to match your games. Easy-peasy, and highly recommended!

By the by, or very own Tempest has written a file matching utility that's also very excellent. Perfect Match. Also recommended!

Any of the popular ROM/Disc verification groups (No-Intro, TOSEC, ReDump, GoodSets) typically provide DAT files for the purposes of ROM auditing, but also to enforce naming conventions. That would be a great place to start. Headkaze set up a utilities page a while back that contains links to all of the above.

No-Intro even provides an online tool which allows you to create your own custom DATs for their sets (DAT-o-MATIC). TBH I haven't messed with it very much (I usually just grab their full DATs), but it looks like a really neat tool.

TBH I’ve never paid attention. I’m a bit old school in that I still use the Artwork Download Utility which gives you the choice between the Low Res and High Res videos. If I were to take a wild guess I’d say that GameEx downloads the Low Res videos by default, but I could be totally wrong there. There are still several sets on EmuMovies which don’t have high res videos yet, so it would make some degree of sense.

Perhaps someone who downloads videos directly through GameEx will chime in …
