GameEx Update list

This is my first post in the forum...and this is my question/concern, Everytime I perform the update list in GameEx says that i have 9900 ROMs, but I know for fact that i have almost twice that amount. Why GameEx only tells me that i have 9900 ?

Depending on your MAME version and the ROMS in your collection (and your filter settings), GameEx will display all ROMs (provided settings are not filtered) minus mechanical ROMS. This include mechanical slots and pinballs and the like. I hope this answers your question and welcome to the GameEx forums!

Hi criveman! I’ve seen your name a few times in the online list, so I’m glad you decided to jump in and join the fray!

Believe it or not this question comes up from time to time, especially once MAME started counting mechanical and pinball ROMs as part of the standard MAME set (as Draco already mentioned).

The way you configure your ROM filters will also have an impact on the number of ROMs displayed in GameEx. If you’re still not sure this is the answer your looking for, please feel free to post your GameEx.ini and we can take a look.
