i love the look of the new MCE Glossy theme, but i am using an x-arcade

controller in my cabinet and cant figure how to go back a page to the start page

on the other themes there is a h in the top right none in MCE Glossy.

Ok, to go back to the main screen press the GameEx logo (where the H used to be) should be next to the blue power button.

Or if the toolbar at the top of the screen is visible, you can press the microsoft logo to go back to the start.
