I've been meaning to ask the gang about this one for awhile. For whatever reason, on my arcade machine, and on the pin emulation machine i'm building as well, AND on a buddies machine, we're having issues with the favorites. We can add favorites, and we can SEE the favorites in the proper menu, AND we can PLAY the favorites. The problem is it asks to update the favorites list EVERY time we go there, even if nothing has changed. If you hit cancel, everything is as it should be. If you let it update, it just runs forever. It seems like I fixed this a long time back, but I can't recall what the solution is. I'd like to either resolve it or just make it so that message doesn't come up. I'd appreciate some tips if ya'll know any.

Thanks!

You mean the favorites menu in GameEx or the MAME list? GameEx favorites won't prompt to update the list afaik. If it's the MAME list it shouldn't update unless you change something or update MAME.

This is the Gamex favorites list. Sorry, should have mentioned that. Yeh, I agree..I don't know why i'm being prompted for a list update on the fav's screen. The other odd thing is, the fav's list updates fine. By that I mean, when I add a game to it, it's there without any need of updating anything. It's quite odd to me..but this is the 3rd machine i've seen it on. I don't think it's anything i've doing wrong, but ya never know.

Gotta be MAME related. MAME doesn't prompt for a list update if you select the Mame game list?

This is happening on a non mame install build with mame turned off. No mame has ever been installed..it's very odd indeed.

Great news. I appreciate it.
