Keeping High Scores

Is there any way to keep your high scores so that when you have finished playing a game and then return later your previous highscore will still be there for you to beat.Is there any software or setting that will enable this.

I use this for mame. just unzip and put it in the Mame root folder. I dont think there are any for consoles unless you use save states.

jedah,thanks but i already had a uhs dat file unzipped in my mame directory in the high score folder,is this right.

Like after i have played a game say 1942 and have entered my initials in the high scores and then play some other game and then return to 1942 again,my high scores will not be there again.

Have i got it installed in the wrong folder.

No put it in the main M.A.M.E. folder. This should fix your problem . I have just double-checked. This definitely works.
