I've now tried a fresh install off GameEx on another PC and left ISO Mounting Support turned off and I'm getting the same result "Install ISO Support:\"

I've also tried the [-VIRTUALDRIVE-] option which is how the default SSF config is setup but it doesn't do anything, if I watch the virtual drive nothing gets mounted

So this is not single system problem... though it could still be an idiot user problem :)

Take a look at this link from the Maximus Arcade forum. Appears that the correct command line should be -mount 0, [ROM], where 0 is the first virtual drive, 1 the second, etc.

This is the vendor name Daemon Tools picked when I created the virtual drive

I was under the impression that Daemon Tools picked a random vendor and model number to try and combat some problems with various software not running if it detected a virtual drive?

I checked my other PC and the vendor for it is MNMX model EZ0127S5M

Daemon Tools has the option to rename the vendor but it wont accept a full stop so the best I can rename it to is DT Soft

Hi Tom,

here are the logfiles after crashing gameex.. an 2nd issue refer to the gameextender.. it shows a black field in place of an actually screenshot (left upper corner)

Could you try turning off GameExtender and see if you still get the crash. Also I ntoice you have .bmp for the not found snap. I am not sure if bmp is supported.

I added a new DT Virtual drive and this one appeared as DTSOFT BDROM

When I run SSF.exe [VIRTALDRIVE]:\

GameEx now runs SSF.exe D:\

D is the correct drive letter so it mus now be detecting the drive but its not actually mounting the image

Im not sure but Id test with a fresh unotuched installl of DT Lite.

I've uninstalled Daemon Tools rebooted and installed it again, this time it created the DT Virtual drive with vendor DTSOFT but still no joy with mounting. I've checked this on both PC's and it doesn't mount on either.

I've checked the default installation of Daemon Tools on a third PC and it also has yet anther random name for the vendor. All my systems where previously running Daemon Tools Lite 4.41.3.0173 and I always use the default install settings other than turning off the explorer bar. The older version of Daemon Tools must install differently from the newer versions. Which is likely to cause you issues if you expect the Vendor name to be the same.

I've updated the GameEx system and test system to the latest versions but it doesn't help, does GameEx log anything when it tries to mount?

the log does look any different to me or maybe it's not trying to mount

Sounds like its using Virtual CloneDrive then or I posted the wrong version.

That version is the same, it doesn't appear to try to mount

As far as I'm aware Virtual Clone drive hasn't ever been installed on this test PC.

How can I check?

Perfect Tom that's it working now, thanks

The following are also supported by by Daemon Tools:

B5T

B6T

BWT

CCD

CDI

CUE

ISO

ISZ

MDS

MDX

NRG

APE

FLAC

Though it also supports more as it will happily open a BIN without a CUE and it will mount a MDF without a MDS

I would say the main extensions to support would be ISO, CUE, BIN, CDI, MDS, MDF, MDX, NRG

Thanks again

Hi Tom,

here are the logfiles after crashing gameex.. an 2nd issue refer to the gameextender.. it shows a black field in place of an actually screenshot (left upper corner)

Also try not having it load music on startup. See if that is the issue.

Also, please see if the attached is stable.

Any more info such as screenshots of the crash would be helpful too.
