help setting up my slikstik quad 4

Ok, thanks for the help, i got the theme working no problem & i also enabled slikstik support, my player 2 is perfect but player 1 does not work right, i have to use the trackball buttons, i just have a standard slikstik quad 4, i saw a note from tom that he told someone to go into controllers tab & under the 'default input layer' choose x-arcade, i thought maybe i could go into this area & choose slikstik & maybe this work fix my issue, thanks for help

Please specify if you're talking about GameEx or MAME. If you're talking about MAME, start a game, ANY game and press the 'TAB' button on your keyboard. That's where you setup your controller for all MAME games (if you don't choose "controls for this game").

To specify the controls for GameEx, go into your GameEx folder -> Config folder and edit the custominput.ini file. You find what to put into it (the scancode for each function) in scancodes.txt. Don't forget to enable custom controls in GameEx configuration setup. (I think it's under the "input" section).

How does it interface with your computer? If it comes with a built in keyboard encoder, just open up notepad and start pressing buttons, and you'll quickly see which button does what.

Not sure if this is what you are afte or not.

Open up the GameEx config and click on display settings. Then near the bottom turn Run in Arcade Mode to 'ON'. This should disable the mouse buttons.

Secondly Click on Input settings and Enable the 'Enable SlikStik and IPAC Support.

I really dont have a clue if that will work as I dont have a SlikStik.

hello, my slikstik quad 4 has a built in encoder on the player 1 set i have 6 buttons

top three buttons

button 1 is =

button 2 is h

button 3 is 9

bottom 3 buttons

button 4 is O

button 5 is z

button 6 is x

I really would appreciate the help setting this up this is a very nice frontend

I reprogramed my ipac & now im running 100% now to start daphne, great frontend, i just need to send 18.00 to get rid of the nag screen
