  1. Okay, who will be lifting the trophy? I'm not a huge follower of this sport, but it seems Argentina is pretty tough. Then there's Germany and Brazil, and it seems some think Germany is the most well rounded team of the bunch. I was having a martiini at the Bonefish bar Thursday, and was shocked to see so many coming out to watch this event at the bar. <EDIT> a bar in the US
  2. Well, just finished the cab/htpc thread. The bar has been set high by many, impressive and intimidating at the same time!
  3. IC "Resident Windbag"
  4. The way it's weaved into the act, it just wouldn't be the same without it. You got to have a plot, right? That's cool, that show will always be a favorite of mine! Back when MTV was relevant they aired shows like this, the early seasons of unplugged, etc., too bad they seemingly lost their way and went to reality, or whatever it is they show these days!
  5. That completely makes sense, although it would have never occurred to me if you hadn't mentioned it. Thanks!
  6. Pincabs running PinballX Cabinets and HTPC Setups Running GameEx I've been browsing these threads hoping they will spawn some creativity on my part due in no small part to the amazing lengths people will go for a hobby they love. In doing so I noticed today they are both locked, which struck me as strange for threads whose sole purpose was to share what you have done with the community. Obviously there are individual build threads in this topic area too, and perhaps this has become more the norm, then again it occurred to me that perhaps these somehow got unintentionally locked during a server/software upgrade etc.
  7. I had never seen Bottom. Thanks for the videos rockyrocket
  8. A: The dog ate it You must be incredibly patient to go through this during upgrade cycles! I would likely throw in the towel.
  9. Bummer dude! Classic post though
  10. I've not been around here for a long period of time, but long enough to know that cantankerous and all, you're one of those select members that helps make this the great community it is. Happy Birthday!
  11. Man, my wife just mentioned this to me less than an hour ago, sad news indeed! RIP Thanks for posting the video, it's a great reminder that I need to get out the DVD set to revisit these classics.
  12. What a bargain Nows the time for all those on the fence to go for it!
  13. Wow, I thought I'd never get this to update! click sips coffee click sips coffee done I like it! Thank you sir
  14. I recall using Atomic Clock in Windows 98, I believe this is the modern version of it. Atomic Clock Sync It worked well for me back in the day.
  15. My post didn't make sense, "Seems it is showing GMT correctly, at least for me!" , and not EDT I thought it simply displayed GMT here all the time, on purpose given we are all from so many different areas. I thought this was to make things less confusing, overall anyway. You'll have to forgive me, I've been jacked up on steroids for the last several days, and have about 2 hours of sleep combined over the last two nights.
  16. It is 9:03 A.M. EDT tIme here currently, and mine is set to -5 in my profile. Seems it is showing GMT correctly, at least for me!
  17. FYI this is what I was reading: "What folder are you attempting to extract to? If it's at the root of a drive, or one of the protected folders (\Program Files, ProgramData, \Windows), then yes, you need admin access to do this. If it's a profile folder (like your desktop or documents), that wouldn't make sense unless 7zip is doing something "bad" when launching (for what it's worth, I've been using WinRAR without problems on Windows 8, but I've not tried 7zip yet)." http://www.eightforums.com/software-apps/9003-7-zip-administrator-rights-problem.html After reading the quoted post, and seeing how the target directory is "C:\MinGW" per the directions, it stands to reason it would apply to 7 too, perhaps Vista as well, with it's overblown UAC. So many of our industrial UPS units and mechanical systems require the run as administrator thing, I've pretty much acclimated to doing it all the time now.
  18. Cool! I was just coming back to suggest right click and run as administrator for 7zip in windows 8. Then just extract using file manager. Apparently it's a problem for some, but I don't know your OS. fingers crossed!!!
  19. This has to be some compatibility problem between 7zip, and this .exe. I just downloaded it again, and extracted it using nothing, just let windows 7 do it's thing. This is on a completely different machine than I compiled on above. Can you bypass 7zip? Perhaps right click and run it as administrator, or configure 7zip to not associate with .exe files, just until you get this succesfully extracted? I've verified everything you have, file size, etc. and I believe you've found your problem for sure, and it's not the file, it's just not jivin' with 7zip for some reason.
  20. Early upon my return to GameEx I felt the wait would be timed nearly perfect with my build. As things progressed I found myself becoming more Impatient, but ended up loading 13.26 at the recommendation of many here. I realize this doesn't apply to the original poster in any way, but to me this was a whole new ballgame from the frontend I messed around with so briefly five or so years ago. Going with the current version has been a good move for me, as it has given me the oppoturnity to familiarize myself with configuration screens, which I assume will retain a similar feel with Evolution. That said, I am eager and excited about the release of Evolution, but imagine a huge amount of effort is being taken on to ensure a polished release. On the other sites I frequent, I see others posting about the release too, and expect to see activity here increase dramitcally on launch, and the continuing support to keep them coming back.
