  1. Wow, glutton for punishment! I guess you meant it when you said publihers next. I wish I had paid attention to this thread earlier on after getting into the project, but regardless of that I just gave it a read. FWIW, I'm still running into dupes, but mostly from the aspect that one develpoer was acquired by another larger one. In several cases they both had a logo at one of the source sites I've been frequenting. In this case I used the appropriate logo, such as in the case of Locomotive Games. If you click the "more logos" link under the locomotive one, you'll see they Pacific Coast Power and Light, so in this case it worked out that both got their individual logo in stigzler's sheet. Note that they where dba as DT Productions at one time too. Whew, confusing enough? Anyway, when possible it seems advantageous to track down the alternates too, as they most likely developed individual games whilst using one of the various names, or so it would seem probable they did. It blows my mind how thoroughly detailed all this is! I really don't know how you keep up with it, but It's very cool that you do!
  2. That's good to know, I wasn't aware. My hats off to those who come up with these databases, I can't imgaine the work that must be involved tracking all this down! Just based off what I've found, there are some good sites for info on pin devs, but finding images is a bit tricky. I suppose it's not really image and logo specific though.
  3. yeah, I thought you would be thinking that way!
  4. No matter how you add it up, this isn't a very waistline friendly hobby. How many calories do you burn pulling a pop top?
  5. Nothing to see here, move along!
  6. Yeah, this is the third cab in recent memory that had the trays on it. I suppose it helped, there are no readily apparent cig casualties, which is more than I can say for the control panel I bought off ebay. It looks like those speakers really worked out well for you. That's one facet of mine that is causing me a lot of headaches.
  7. Okay so no F3! Good info for sure. Someday, when I'm actually playing, I'll have to remember this.
  8. He was one of the few developers that have no icons, that had a webpage with his mug on it. So I took page from your book, and downloaded it. I can't recall who it is right now, but damn, he sure sticks out!
  9. I need a Star Fox fix, how long until Wii U In all seriousness, all this emulator talk got me to thinking back. Star Fox was one of my favs on SNES. I just watched a video, and the graphics are pretty pitiful, but the gameplay was great!
  10. i can't add this, but anyway. Locomotive is in there, but there is another dev not on the list. Locomotive Games Alternate logo
  11. Yes!!!! I had a long dry spell today, lots of digging with little to show for it. The last hour has been much more productive, thankfully!
  12. Sounds like something went south for sure. I just did this a few weeks back, and noticed GameEx indicates that it will download MAME 0.146, or was it 0.149? This is in the "Download Emulators" screen. I skipped that part and grabbed the latest release, and installed using the suggested paths. C:\Emulators\Mame Then in configuration mode used advanced to get to the Mame screens to set the correct paths. Regardless, are you downloading MAME 0.153, installing it, then configuring GameEx to point to the correct paths?
  13. While your at it might as well grab Dazzle's fixed 0.153 history.dat, assumning your running a 0.153 romset, before you update. The link for it is in the righthand sidebar on the main forum screen.
  14. Welcome Wolfman24! Love the AWWIL refrence Stigzler
  15. That cabinet looks familiar to one I saw in a build thread some time ago, but without the R2 on top. Cool stuff! <edit> no wonder, it's your build thread! I first read that over a year ago. You did a fantastic job on the bezel and lighting!
  16. Coming together fast. Looking good!
  17. Gotcha There are a suprising number of pin devs in the list.
  18. Problem is, especially with a lot of the pinball guys, is these are just fellows that designed playing fields and/or the mechanics for them. Many of them are icons in their field, but regardless, they never had a logo. Then again perhaps just creating one may be the path of least resistance. Sourcing for the really obscure developers, which is proving to be difficult, could result in the same thing, no logo to work from to begin with. I don't want to exaggerate, but I believe there are going to be quite a lot missing sources. Creating one may be the only solution.
  19. I have been using cell A to comment frequently, but I've been using it to indicate what the link in the notes is pointing to. You can look at several of the sources I've found that have multiple links mostly by looking for that triangle in cell A. Check that out and see if it works for you, if not, I'll start putting the alternate logo links in that comment.
  20. Sorry to switch gears here, but I felt I should mention how I am completing fields on the form. Some developers that I thought where somewhat obscure are in fact rather large. In this case, many seem to have logos that have evolved over the years, in some cases several times. When this occurs I link the one that is newest unless an older one is more relevant to the era of the games for a particular system, or looks considerably better based on either color, design, and perhaps most importantly, the resolution. This is my opinon of course, and something you all may wish to evaluate. In the case of multiple logos I will include a link in the "Notes" section that goes to the page with all the other logos, and in the case of a single alternate, I link straight to that image. In the event I am unable to find a logo, I try and find a page that lists the games they developed. When I do I put this link in the notes section so we have something to refer to in the event we are forced to resort to looking for box art. I'm simply moving down the form, and I'm currently in the "I" section, and coming up dry quite often. This is one of the reasons I'm posting this, if you're looking at a long section I've gone through, and sudeenly there is nothing noted, my searches didn't get any hits.
  21. Wow, I never knew TDK got into this market, interesting for sure. WTG Stigzler!
  22. I recall the being so far away at some point, but now we're practically at the end of the countdown. I too have been anticipating the release, or what ever it is we will be treated to once it hits zero. Ya know, it could just be a teaser trailer.......
  23. That is super cool Stigzler! I certainly appreciate the kudos, but the real stars will come out when you talented gents take some of these very rough logos, and polish them up and make them presentable. Perhaps some day I will learn this talent, and who knows it may be this project that gets me started, but for now I'm doing what I'm most capable of. I'm up visiting my folks for family reunion, and will return to the hunt the first of the week.
  24. I don't know what the cutoff date for that is, or if there is one, but pre summer sale purchase doesn't automatically mean you don't get the free upgrade. It has been advertised as a upgrade to anyone registering the current version since the first of the year.
  25. You can shortcut to all of this config inside GameEx by selecting the "Advanced Config" once you are in config mode. These links break it all down for you.
