RESOLVED Mike ! LOL... Already summited a request and used some ( most ) of your words, lets hope Tom and the gang thing its a doable as i think a lot of people specially with kids would use this feature and would put it streets ahead of the rest of the front ends, although it is already, ive recomended it to loads of my mates are they r using it just for mame and a couple of other emus, and thanks to all the help ive had here ive been able to point them in the right direction. Is it possible to hide all but just the favorite menu for each login?? by this i mean the kids only play maybe 20 games across all the emulators installed is it possible to have a fuction or to make it so when they log on they are given just 1 screen with there favorites listed any nothing else , we all have to think like a kid would and they like it so they click there name and are presented with there list of games, select and play. What I would like to see is something a little more mature in this feature that will allow full administrative control over what is displayed/enabled than what is available currently so that when setting up a more restricted profile, all one would need to do is select Enable or Disable for the functionality based upon the Administrator's Configuration as the template (regardless of vanilla or custom menus and the option to disable custom menus for a logon profile other than the Administrator's. For example: Feature Default : User 1 : User 2 Enable Search y y y enable Auto GameEx Update y n n Use Custom Menus y y n Enable MAME y n y Enable N64 ( or emulator 2 ) y y n etc... Could utilize the drop-downs for multiple options under each feature as present in the Setup Wizard or Advanced Configuration in addition to emus listed separately for enable/disable to further secure access for each. Also would need to ensure each user has their own GameEx.ini, custom.ini and other configuration files that will be accessed as opposed to the system defaults. It appears that the configurations are setup to do just that in most cases.

Hi Mike, thanks for the feedback, Your idea of having drop downs for the options does seem a good idea, specially if you could select which emus you want enabled in each profile, have set up mine and the kids logins and have managed to delete quite a lot of games they dont play and add / delete games to favorites in each profile so that works well, themes is not a problem as they are happy with the gloss i use. How would you go about doing a pop up id do the playstation one but if its to be done in access forget it ive never used it. Is there any kind of texteditor package that can be used? Ian.

May try doing that, coould be bad file as Dragon Lair and Space Ace work ok. Im currently downloading Dragons Lair 2 to try that but it nearly 4 gig and coming in very slow even though i now have a 30 meg broadband line .

Hi Mike, yep assistance is needed ( i require 6 assistance prefably Asian lol ! ). Ok ive installed the login thingie when i run login instead of GameEx it says default or Admin i goto admin and im presented with a set admin password and cant get any further and cant find where to add users, ive looked in advance config and set up wizard but im stumped i want to set it up as Default, Dad, Jamie, David ( the last 2 being my kids ). Ian update: sorted it uses the joystick doh!! i was trying to do it with the keyboard !!!

Hi Dave, Well unfortunatly it doesnt work for me, ive followed the guide that celly posted and no go, any help you can supply will be greatly appreciated, i get a black screen and it return to GameEx, dlair and space ace work 100%. I had problem with these before but frequency sorted that by adding bank 0 10000101 bank 1 010000111 ( or simular ) Ian.

Im not sure about this but does GameEx support logins for example can different people log on and for example the favorites would only show there games?, its just my kids play on the cab and it would be nice for them to have there own list of favorites? Ian

Thanks Mike, but i have Space Ace and Dragons Lair working 100% in GameEx ( except i dont have the score overlay screen ) i was just short of a framefile that mesk has kindly posted for esh . Ian.

Nice one thanks mesk, TBH i played Dragons Lair and Space Ace Games as a kid and must have spent enough money then to be able to buy the actuall cabinets, and ive kinda forgot the pattens to them as ive got older lol!.

Hi guys, ok, ive got Daphne installed and working with s.ace and d.lair, ive now started to add to the collection, bu theres my problem, ive have "obtained" a copy of esh's Aurunmilla but it has only a m2v ( video - which is a single file ?? ) a ogg file ( sound ) and a romfile containing various bins, now i know that daphne normally uses a framefile but i dont have one with this, does anyone know how to create a framefile, ive googled it but the developer of daphne doesnt support it since about 2008 and the forums ive looked threw dont offer any advise , i would like to have all the laser disc games on my cab, but im not sure how to go about fixing this ? As allways ANY advise greatly appreciated. SM.

Im using sega model 2 emulator v0.9 and set it up as an emulator not using the built in one, i would sujjest trying this as its very easy to set up, if i can set it up anyone can. ( i bet frequency will vouch for that !.) SM

The only reason i still have espxe installed is cos a few ( and it is a very few aboout 5 ) games refuse to play in PSX and i cant be bothered to track down different versions.

It works on 64 bit if you use compatabilities mode xp with sp3
