Ahh yes I didn't see that until now The removal of mahjong, casino, pinball, & Mature should be more than enough for most people

I wouldn't actually recommend filtering Japan because in some cases it is the parent like in Double Dragon for instance. Also, you lose the ability to play some games entirely because no other region of them exists.

I have a question, but I'm not sure if it pertains to GameEX or this plugin. I just used the latest MAME 0.156 right when it released and I'm seeing now in my snaps and titles directory there is a directory created name NOT FOUND that contains .ntf files of the set names that have no artwork associated with them ---> http://imgur.com/3ttx2k9 This is really COOL! but I don't know which software is responsible for this and not it has me curious. I notice it doesn't do this for videos and if w/e is doing this could gain that ability it would be extremely useful for filling holes in ones setup. If anyone knows what is creating these .ntf files please tell me!

You really don't need all those unofficial patches like nonag and cave. GameEX can turn off the nag stuff and official MAME has better Cave stuff than what that patch does. I'm suspecting if you donwload the command line mame64 from mamedev.org and point GameEX to that then an update listing would be correct.

What kind of MAME binary are you using and what version?

There is specifically on the PinballX front page a download of Shark with no Adware.

In the Advanced MAME option in the GameEX wizard, there are options to set path to mameinfo.dat, history.dat, etc. If you've never changed those paths then it defaults to GameEx\DATA path Extract this zip of files to that path ---> https://www.sendspace.com/file/l9ffdn Then in GameEX preform update list After that process finishes let us know if the issue is fixed.

As far as your Request #5: goes, I suppose from the start it would have been nice if Table Authors reserved a portion of the actual script that had the XML information listed there and commented out. That way software like the game manager and such could parse that information and people could have 100% identical information in their XMLs as a standard. -
I actually skipped Shark007 when setting up PinballX. I already had ffdshow X64, haali Media Splitter, and have no problems that I'm able to see. Everything plays as it should.

It shows 320 light gun games here on my end. I'm not sure about your other questions. [EDIT] what happens if you pick a random Driving game like Daytona then there's a selection named More: Driving. If I click that it shows 422 (Racing) games

I would if I actually had any. OK I failed to notice "MAME Upscaled PinCab Vids" on the FTP so I shall give these a look. You can get those from emumovie, so I will look at trying to put some wheels together -

Got all the imperfect vertical games added which is an additional 213 games if I did everything correctly. So now the grand total is 863 vertical games (Parent only) These look so damn AWESOME on a big vertical display. ;D Now to figure out how to resource artwork for most of these ;-) MAME.zip -

I wouldn't suggest trying to do that and that wasn't the intended design of this XML. I'm also in the process of adding all the vertical imperfect games such as galaga, etc. I suggest keeping your set 100% complete and letting MAME + PinballX do the rest -
I've been working on a MAME.xml that contains every vertical game (Parent only) for my PinballX setup. Only games with the Driver marked good (Green status) have made it in thus far. I'm running the VPinball990.exe for the main system and I created separate systems for the physics mod 5 and MAME. Everything is running great here with 0 problems I'm loving this Front End!
