This may be completely irelevant, but do you have your Steam games installed on a non OS drive? In other words not on C:\? I only ask coz it can cause problems as i'm sure you're aware if you went down that rabbit hole.

aww i was excited when i first saw this post but it truelly is a nuts n bolts emu? i mean you guys gotta admit Dolphin does a cracking job even though the devs are hellbent it seems on Wii emulation these days. Still it would be nice to get a focused GC emu at last. i'll be keeping an eye on this one for sure! Thanks for share HK

only GC stepping up here huh Well i beat mine though it's nothing to go by. if you want some tips then here goes: 1) Get them medals! Kill the ground troops using Banish! you will get medals for them! The more you collect the bigger they get, equating to big score! There is a catch though - let one go and the medals will reset. Remember that. 2) There is a "true" boss on stage one! (he's green ) I'm not 100% sure how you get him but the times i did i lost no (zero) lives and i missed no (zero) medals. Thats what got me the score. If anyone knows the true reqs for getting him then please share Score: 1,515,770 Initials: DAZ

@Han put "-mouse" in command line @GC thanks for the guide, i already played with it a while back but good to have some info i play mine on: 20 dial speed 20 sensitivity Score: 78,870 Initials: DAZ I'm yet to tinker properly though so these settings may change -EDIT- you will all need to put -mouse in command line (arguments) options to get your mouse working

Hi steveb, Unfortunately the nature of the early micro systems didn't have a uniform control scheme, and therefore the emulators don't either, it will differ between games. I've not used Spectaculator myself as i had a C64 But it may be one of them emu's that goes above and beyond the rest. You could try Adultery's Xpadder plugin and see if it fits your needs, but in all honesty trying to configure controls for thousands of C64 games is inpractical, and probably not achievable. Currently it's almost insane to consider having a C64 collection entirely cab/gamepad friendly sorry Otherwise i would just use whichever emu you find works best for you and use the save states that particular emulator provides for saving and loading.
-
I use 360 pads too so can't help on the arcade controls, as for games though you are pretty safe with most GC games as they were made for "partyin" with the others then general advice would be appropriate here i think - beat 'em ups/fighters, shmups and platformers all work well mostly - stay clear of RPG's and strategies if you wanna be cab friendly (with a few exceptions of course)

No problem with advertising! "The more the merrier!" huh As with the tables - that will depend on what you prefer i guess! There are two types of table as far as i'm concerned, both in FX2 and RL - the "forgivers" and the "punishers" Forgivers - are the tables that let you get away with making mistakes, as long as you have good reflexes and have many ramps and targets to hit (Spiderman for example). But will ultimately need some knowledge to compete well on. Punishers - are the tables that tend to have a lot of open space near the flippers and direct most of the ramps down towards them at speed, and need high accuracy to hit the target ramps consistently (Wolverine for example). The good thing about FX2 is you can demo them all before you buy As for what i have so far (and will have them all eventually coz i had them on xbox and all are good in my opinion) are: The original Marvel Pack: Wolverine Ironman Blade Spiderman The Star Wars pack: Epsiode V The Clone Wars Boba Fett and free table: Sorcerer's Lair (i think you need to buy one pack and this one comes free) Whichever you buy i will have in time anyways so bring it Menace! Thats my new nickname for you by the way -EDIT- i realise now that may be a british thing! but there was a troublemaker comic character called "Dennis the Menace" - that is what i was referring to

Hi folks! I'm a massive fan of this game, i had all the tables on the xbox which unfortunately has gone to a better place (it didn't die i just sold it) but none of my Steam friends play FX2! If you play it you'll know how much more fun it is to compete against friends so if you would like some friendly competition then please, feel free to add me! Steam ID: ShmupperFromHell Alternatively leave yours and i'll add you Bring on the wizardry!

Awesome set! Thanks for sharing I used to be quite good when i was a youngun, was in the school team lol how nerdy is that?! Imagine me, the "chav" of the team My fellow team mates would get all embarrased when i played because i brought the banter "there is a timer dude, that would suggest to hurry up - so move already" etc etc hehehe it worked though! I had no strategies as such (apart from making people sweat through banter) or read any "pro" books but i did have a knack of seeing multple routes 30-50 moves ahead within seconds which is what gave me an edge over some of the "real" nerds trying to pull off the pro strats. I've not played in 20 years though so would probs get my Bishop handed to me these days Great game though and it's one i think all kids should learn. It teaches patience, forward thinking and most of all how to be a gracefull loser

G-to-the-C you deserve this pro-per-ly, Though some of us know you as "D" including me, You've showed yourself off as a top hi-scorer, And made us come back, wanting a lot more and more-a, You bring the tables, the boards, and then you bring your game, And without you man it wouldn't be the same. Congrats man and sorry i'm late! Btw can you say "cheese"

While i totally agree that there needs to be some sort of structure, my worry is that if you start to bring in deadlines and things then it all will start to become a chore, rather than something to enjoyable to participate in Both Han and GC have been given pretty much free reign on this and i think they are doing a stellar job, adjusting things as they go. It's a new thing and as such will probably need some time to get the kinks ironed out but as far as i am concerned, Han and GC got this sorted Just my 2 cents and i agree with you Draco mostly ^-^ -
I used to be good at this when i was a kid I still love this game though but sheesh look how many tries it took me to get my act together lol Score: 35925 Initials: DAZ

Nicely done fella's! I've not been shy about my gratitude toward both of you for your efforts in bringing this frankly awesome lil feature to the forum. It's been a long time coming and it surely wouldn't be this good without ya -

To your original issue i would switch back to the Default - Default theme, cycle through the Change View until you get all pages back to having the normal default blue background with the text list. Then switch back to WOPR and all should be fine. The change view button can cause confusion as some views look the same when they actually are not. You can give "All Games" its own background by choosing Mod Background> All Games in the Object Browser, Then click [Open...] (at the bottom) and browse to your background. Every element, background and foreground can be selected and edited using the Object Browser. Study it well

haha hot down here ain't it where you at? Bournemouth? Man i bet the view's nice there today @Adultery - think plums, conkers, erm.... erm walnuts!
