  1. Sorry i should have explicity said, in the snapper folder, since 1st launch are these 3 files: HiScore.xml Settings.xml Snapper.log Yup 1st thing i did was enable then configure EDIT: attached log. log.txt
  2. Hi Adultery i can't seem to get a screenshot at all. Are the hi-score games supposed to to be forced into ddraw automatically? I tried with qbert and 1944, i even held SHIFT +HOME for several seconds and there is nothing in the Snapper folder apart from the xml's and the log, which doesn't indicate any problem: 29/09/2013 20:47:01 : Hi-Score Snapper (Version: 1.0.0)29/09/2013 20:47:01 : 13.18 INITIALIZED OK!: GameEx29/09/2013 20:47:01 : INIT PLUGIN: Initialization completed!I'll try putting ddraw in command line see what happens. -EDIT- Nope that didn't work, i tried mapping it using xpadder just incase my home button is broken or something but still no screenshot. I'm using XP maybe that has something to do with it?
  3. Hi there, currently there is only big or small thumbnail view available. If you are already in small thumbnail view then for now that is there is not much you can do, however, the authors are currently working on a brand new theme engine that may or may not let you manually choose the thumb size (it's all very classified at the moment). If you feel the urge to do your bit and have a voice, you can always hop on over to the Feature Request thread and make yourself heard. I'm sure you're not the only one that would like customised thumbs For now though you could try moving your list box up a little, then stretching it down a bit - you might be able to get an extra row in there
  4. lol not a chance! But i did do a lot better after your tips so thanks again I did turn my pad 45 degrees and it helped - well i didn't jump straight off the edge with all 3 lives as i did before! This is just a start and i'm last, but i'll be back you can count on that Score: 11,540 Initials: DAZ

    SteamOS!

HA! Same here Well i was dual booting Mint for a couple of years, slowly making the switch but it was the Unity straw that finally made me dump Ubuntu for good. I usually go for KDE these days (since Gnome3) but have been trying Cinnamon for the last few months. It's pretty slick i have to say but not without its flaws. It is still a baby though. I can't shake this itch to reinstall KDE though - it's so... shiny! I'm going a bit OT and nerdy here so, Given the consistent nature and view of Valve toward moddability i suspect that even if initially not packaged to work on other OS's/platforms, i'll bet my left nut they'll make it extremely easy for 3rd parties to develope drivers/software for them. They already say that it will be hackable from the start Those were my thoughts exactly. It will be very strange to lift the left thumb to press buttons, but, you remember when dual sticks was the new fandangled thing?? I found that awkward at first but now i feel lost if the right stick is missing (like when using a DC controller for example). I think we all are a little reluctant to change, even more so as we get older and stuck in our ways, but things move on i guess I somewhat agree with this - lifting your left thumb to press buttons while simultaniously trying to do directions could be frustrating, on the otherhand how easy will the infamous Dragon Punch become?! Just drawing a "Z" in lower right of pad - win! Maybe in such instances the right pad will switch to an invisible button layout in the N,S,E&W positions? Who knows! Either way all this makes me want a Tardis more than ever!

    SteamOS!

I'm with you on this - If it's going to be a streamlined or "lite ubuntu" they may well ditch any kind of desktop altogether and build their own tools that you can run straight from big picture (terminal, file manager etc). Afterall if they did include a desktop and other bloats then it would be no different than installing any standard distro and running the Steam client as normal. If there is to be an underlying desktop though please gawd not Unity *prays*

    SteamOS!

Well that's me out then. It doesn't work in XP and crashes in Linux. Oh well good luck chaps. -EDIT- Although i haven't bothered with it much in linux because i had no reason to. Hmmmm i may just have a lil tinker then and find out why it don't like BigPicture.
  8. I know right! Say, it just so happens you and I live in different time zones... *lightbulb*
  9. Nice score man! Getting there That would be the true boss i mentioned
  10. Feeling like crap with nobody able to tell you why is a horrible place to be man, it happens regularly to me so i feel ya brah. It's good to have you back though boss and hopefully on the mend As eveyrone has said you never need to apologise for any absence and hope you did out of politeness or something rather than really feeling a need to. If things did get real crazy round here in your absence don't worry - we'll just break out the whips and work Den to death!

    SteamOS!

Nice one Dracs @null - Yeah me too, the Linux catalogue has been growing at nice pace and i'm more interested in what Valves influence will do for Linux as a whole rather than the SteamOS itself. Saying that though how many of us have dreamed of an OS designed solely for gaming?! I know i have! For years! Imagine nearly all your hardware resources being used to power your games. It could potentially mean knocking off 100's of dollars to your future rigs, if all you're going to run is SteamOS. I'm certainly excited about it and hope it goes well for them.
  12. DB's are looking sweet! Thanks fellas. There is even infos for Boogerman

    SteamOS!

So, if you are not aware yesterday Valve announced their brand new gaming OS based on Linux - SteamOS! (Valve's own teaser page) I've been running the steam client in linux for a couple of months and am very pleased with the pace at which games are getting converted to run on linux. With Valve supporting Linux more developers are likely to aswell which in turn will likely force OpenGL to become a real alternative to DirectX, as it used to be. Good news! I know for a lot of people Linux seems to be a big green scary monster, really it isn't, but now may be the time to start getting familiar with it Checkout GameSpot's article for more infos.
  14. I want that game! It does sound like a good idea though. Anything to help the non-financially-uberfied (that's my new PC term for poor ppl) to experience more games. Being non-financially-uberfied myself i'm all for it
  15. Mr null forgot to link his text here it is
  16. I'm still wondering how this will all work. As i understand it you can "share" your games, with firends on your list, you can play, earn chevos n stats etc but will only last as long you stay friends... with your friends?? Is that about the gist of it?
  17. Oooh another friend playing it! I shall have to get on soon and see what you've done to my scores Thanks for the guide link too, i think i'll deny myself a peek for a while though - part of the fun for me is figuring all the challenges and how to activate them some tables though are way more complimacated than others so no doubt i'll look sooner or later
  18. I have to say they are pretty dam awesome man, this set is def turning out to be one of my faves!
  19. Hi ArcadeFan and welcome to the forums, You could try finding this line in your GameEx.ini: HIDEDESKTOP=Trueand change to: HIDEDESKTOP=FalseAlternatively you can use the setup wizard to change the setting. It's in the "Display Settings" section i believe.
  20. I probably should have mentioned to put a semi-colon in front of this line too: ;JoystickAutoConfig=yes
  21. You mean on the GameEx chat? Mostly it is used for live troubleshooting atm, not as much a social medium - i blame facebook and twitter for that i personally am not a fan of either, they are too intrusive for my likings if you ask me. However if you want to get a chat going amongst like minded people i'm sure it's possible! I'm up for a natter (thats english slang for casual chat) name a place and time and make it happen
  22. Hi emma and welcome to the forums Nice score for your first submission! Feel free to try some of the other titles in our competition, each score will add to your total on the overall leaderboard. One of our HiScore bosses will add you to the boards shortly i'm sure
  23. OK thanks for the tips guys i'll try again. As i'm using a pad i might just turn it 45 degrees Originally i was trying to use the diagonals on my pad which would result in major brain spasms - i don't like feeling drunk unless i'm drinking
  24. It's a shame that didn't work, i wish MS would give us more control over our...controllers The GameBase settings may be overriding WinVICE. Load GB and hit F2, in the USB controller section make sure the lines for player one and 2 say "no" as such: RealJoystick1=noRealJoystick2=noor just put a semicolon in front of both lines: ;RealJoystick1=yes;RealJoystick2=yesYou may have to load WinVICE once (outside of GameBase) to switch it back to the right keyset
  25. You could try x360ce - it's a 360 game pad emulator so i don't know if it will let you remap an actual 360 pad, might be worth a shot though. Check the screenie to see it mapping the left analogue to a d-pad.
