  1. Ok i'm not an expert on this kind of stuff either but firstly you could change the topic title to something grabbing like "The Unofficial Shoot Em Up Tag Team Tourney" for example. Then open with a paragraph explaining something like "We are going to be holding a no-holds-barred competition for Shoot Em Up fans, pro's and enthusiasts alike! Grab a friend and sign yourself up..." etc etc. One guy you might want to ask pointers from is GC - our very own HS mod! This guy knows how to get you interested! I don't know whether he has a natural talent or whether he is trained in some way but Dennis definitely has the knack to get people interested
  2. I'm sure it will be! I want it to be too now i know what is happening! Did you read my edit in previous post? I can tell you are a no BS kind of guy, but presentation, like it or not is what draws people in to such things and your first post doesn't do that i'm afraid. You could pull some real lurkers out of the wordwork with this using the right persuasion
  3. /signed there is someone else here who might like to get on this - celly - you reading man? -EDIT- May i make a suggestion? Update your first post with more detailed info to let people know that you are running the competition, to put their name down etc as it wasn't clear to me the 1st time i read it. It looked to me like you pasted a load of info from another site.
  4. Sounds good to me! Despite my alias' i'm not a pro - but i am a fan and i'll have a blast competing! So where do i sign up? And if anyone on these boards wants to be my partner you're in! So what's the game line-up? Would be nice to get some practice in as i will destroy anyone in my path at a few - but i smell worse than a hobo's trumpet at others
  5. Is there any reason you're using JPCSP in particular? Java based emulators can be a real pain to get funtioning correctly. I've been messing around with PSP emulation quite a bit lately and have found that PPSSPP is far more compatible and most definitely more frontend friendly than the others. /my2c
  6. Hey wolfman - what is this? I can guess its a competition of some sort but from where and run by whom? Could we have some links or other source info
  7. Hey folks, Unfortunately after i took the pic i popped it in and it turned out to be DOA I was soooo gutted you have no idea! I don't get these opportunities often and it was actually an early b-day present for doing some technical favors. 4 years since i had a new GPU and all i got was a powerful hairdryer ideal for triplets I was hoping the replacement would come by today but no such luck. I guess they're still trying to determine whether i threw it against the wall or something It's the first DOA bit of hardware i've had in 18 years so can't complain i guess - some may say that's extremely lucky! @Han - lol i can't fault your logic - or enthusiasm buddy! @null - thanks and you knows it dawg! I'll probs do a vid of some sort when the replacement arrives @Dracs - I know right! It's not top-of-the-range but dam it's more than i could of hoped for! @KRC - I was (and still am now) running a factory OC 1GB GDDR5 HD5750. It's factory OC'ed to 800mhz but have been running it at 850mhz for the last 12months. It's made by Sapphire and can honestly say its the single best hardware investment i've ever made. It's an absolute cracking card and it's only now (after 4 years) that i'm starting to have to run things lower than meduim/high I will never hesitate to buy a Sapphire GPU in the future Anyways i'll keep you guys updated when the replacement finally arrives

    Anime

Like null i went through a phase in my early to late teens - it wasn't cool then and i got stick for it you also had to buy the vids out of some guys boot (trunk for my state-side homies). One of my faves of all time has to be Guyver! Please don't get mixed up with MacGuyver lol It's about an average joe who stumbles on an ancient "suit" which turns him into a real badass! And so it tackles all the usual teenage dilemas that would come with being able to spawn titanium shredding blades from your elbows when you get tripped in the hallway by the school bully, while secretly saving the world from corrupt organisations who know of its existence. It's only 12 episodes long but i've yet to find a series that captures my imagination the way Guyver did back in the day. I was 17 when i watched it though Here's a link to the graphic novel i guess it was based off (although i've never read it) Another one i loved was Aeon Flux but many don't consider it an anime so don't know whether it fits here. Sci-fi heavy and could make the most intelligent of people feel a bit dumb if started halfway through, however i think it's brilliant and all these years later doesn't seem as ludicrous as it once did PS: It's not like the film if you've seen it. @null - i'm a bit of a movie freak, and i especially love SciFi-Horrors! Do you? If so what's your fave?? Hmmm could be good new topic - if i ain't the only one i know i'm a bit weird lol
  9. Ain't she a beaut! I named her Gigi. She was born just 30 mins ago and i couldn't wait to show you guys a pic. I'll let you guys know how well she settles in. I'm wondering what to feed her at the moment. Probably a bit of Skyrim, that always goes down well in the morning! Ahhh it feels good to be a Dad again after four years
  10. i'm gonna have to disagree with you there squire. R-Type is one of them very few games that rewards knowledge - i like that! To become good you need knowledge! R-Type is brutal, but it is is also very rewarding if you can reape It's also much better in arcade and i've played em all.
  11. I was trying out my new v150 build and did a lil better score: 141,500
  12. [JOYSTICK] # To assign more than 1 button to a control, seperate with | # Button Number starting a 0 # # For directions use: # Left 200 # Right 201 # Up 202 # Down 203 # POV Left 300 # POV Right 301 # POV Up 302 # POV Down 303 Left=200 Right=201 Up=202 Down=203 Select=0 Back=1 Shift1_Paging=3 Shift2_Volume=4 PrevTrack=6 NextTrack=7 StopStartJuke=8 Button A is 0 (zero) and button B is 1. You might want to make sure the blue line is set on a button you like. This will scroll your lists much faster when held. Mine is set on the Y button (3)
  13. The Xpadder Plugin has a choice of whether to load one master profile for each emulator, or specific profiles for each game I haven't noticed any myself but i only map the buttons (as you can see), whenever i can i leave the sticks blank so they are read as sticks It's been a while since i messed with PCSX2 so i'm not sure if you can do this but in MAME you certainly can. Absolutely! One of the best things about the GTA series is that moment when you've done almost everything and it's time to spawn a tank, infinite ammo and go nuts on dem bihatchi's!
  14. I got ya Here they are: GameEx_default_dats.zip
  15. That is correct. I'll give you a step-by-step as this sort of thing can get a bit confusing if you've never done it before 1. Use Adultery's Xpadder plugin! This will load your profile only when you launch PCSX2 so as to not mess with GameEx navigation 2. You will need to map every button required for the cheat combo as i have done here: 3. Choose a button for your macro, here i chose the X button on set 2 and chose left thumbstick to select set 2 (while held): 4. Click the button then Advanced in bottom right, check "Auto Add Sequence Pauses" and type out the cheat combo on your keyboard: As you can see R1 is T, R2 is Y, L1 is R etc. So in my example, you hold left thumbstick (which selects set2) then press X on the controller 5. IMPORTANT! Now that you have set keyboard keys to your pad you MUST configure PCSX2 to match your xpadder profile! So in my instance i will need configure PCSX to use: N as X M as Circle J as Square K as triangle etc etc Hope that's a bit clearer and if you need any further assistance don't hesitate
  16. Follow this advice! As you are a new to GE i will explain - each of your "emulators" will have a view. In GE there are many! What you are experiencing at the moment is an alternate view! (thumbnail view). What you need to do is find a button/bit of text/logo that indicates "change view". Press it! This will change the layout of the page. What you want to do is keep pressing "change view" until you get back to the default list. Bare in mind, each time you press "change view" the actual "change view" itself can change position lol So you will need to persevere to get the view back to the default "list" mode
  17. Agreed - it's a masterful piece of cinematography but i watched s01e02-4/5 and i got bored. I'm a bit of a zombie phreak, i love all that "my son is diseased, i love my son, should i risk getting diseased for my son? Oh i love my son" stuff, but i also get switched off when there is too many dramatics, and after 4/5 episodes, it seemed to me anyway that dramatics were the focus of this show. Don't get me wrong i like story backlogs and character building but you gotta have more tense moments! I may be totally wrong about this and should probably give it another shot, but don't open with such an amazing pilot, only to quiet down. Just saying.
  18. This can be done in Xpadder but you will need to map keyboard keys to your gamepad buttons first. Then click your select button, click Advanced (bottom right) check "auto-add pauses" and type out your cheat combo Better yet, have left thumbstick select set 2(while held) then on set 2 you can have all the cheat macro's mapped - all available at 2 clicks! -EDIT- You can edit the timings too, but i find it easier to alter the timings first, then check "auto add pauses" - it saves a lot of time if you're going to map all cheat macro's
  19. The menu has always done that for me when using ddraw in MAME. The games themselves are still playing at their correct resolutions though. For me they always have anyways.
  20. I would try and download again GC it is def v1.0.2 It is much more compatible than v1.0.0
  21. just incase it gets missed :
  22. I did like 2 mins after i posted here when i realised the rom name wasn't there it's all working great now btw
  23. Ooooo a widescreen cab - don't see many of them! That should help with all the elbowing when the beer gets flowing huh I like the handy gamepad holders on the side too. Good job.
  24. Never been a fan of run'n'gun shooters but i do like the style of this one! Score: 111,310 *Using Adultery's snapper plugin - will only put my score in text from now on
  25. Do you have both hi and nvram directories in your MAME folder? Some games require one while some the other. The hi folder doesn't get automatically created, well not in my experience.
