I would doubt that seeing as his whole install was to get rid of useless services that takes up a great portion of XP. This (in my eyes) would include any kind of networking including remote access. I'm just guessing here though of course. Bare in mind that XP can become very unstable if you remove things haphazardly so i wouldn't even contemplate using such an install on a live system without thorough testing first! If however you have a spare partition to test on, and you are familiar with making custom Windows disks (from your own legit copy of course) then why not try it? I wouldn't bet on remote access being in vsilvalopes' config though as it seems he spent much time trimming XP down to bare minimum. Your best bet would be to make your own custom install - you'll learn a lot from the experience Also bare in mind vsilvalopes doesn't frequent the forums much these days (this post is 3 years old )

Wow that really was a squeeze! And there is another game in the comp that behaves in the same manner for me. Can't recall which though *Updated OP, DB, RSS.

Did you not use the custom menu app to set up your menus?! It would be impossible for anyone else to edit your menus as we all have different setups. Check out the Custom Menu Guide. It's very easy to do! Did you copy it over from another install or something? I'm afraid custom menus won't work like that unless you copy your other setup (all emu's, app's etc) EXACTLY.

OK Sweet I refreshed after you started updating and my entries were gone! Dunno how they appeared on your end but it's all good now. I'm having a not so favorable time atm so had an uncharacteristic head-swiftly-to-keyboard moment I'll come back in a few days and hopefully be my chipper self.

I like this one too. It just yells at you not to take it seriously and i like that I think that frog is one of them - i've never been able to catch it in time though I tend to focus on saving all the captives as you get nice bonuses for them, aswell as all teh good loot *Updated OP, EDIT - NOT updated DB, RSS.

I think anyone even slightly giving a dam about Nintendo these last couple of years will be seeing the beginning of what seems inevitable now but inconceivable a few years back - they are gonna be joining their all-time rivals - Sega as a software only company. They put up a good fight but let's be honest amongst ourselves - they were fighting a painfully slow losing battle since the Wii. The DS and all it's little brothers and sisters (someone needs to introduce contraception to their designers) have done well admittedly, but with phones and tabs getting way more powerful it's only a matter of time before the DS, and Vita and all gaming focused handhelds are obsolete and i hate to say - even laughable! They need to cash in right now, swallow some pride and go software only. While they still have money making franchises. Just saying

We might be able to get you on a workaround on this - if things were a little clearer - ie i've read your posts a few times and i'm ashamed to admit i'm not quite grasping what is going on here. I'll also admit i'm not the shiniest tool in the box if you dig So you mapped backspace as a global exit (this is my understanding) and it's working ok in all other emulators except MAME? This is where the problem occurs? Because your MAME version already has backspace assigned to another function? I just want to get some facts correct regarding your situation before i make any suggestions If in the meantime you want to disable the Global Exit, launch Setup Wizard> Input Settings. Scroll down to Global Exit, next to Global Escape Key Combo, click the "browse" button and hit "Clear". Do the same for Joystick Exit. This for now should disable it entirely till we can get you sorted.

And you should be! Fantastic score man *Updated OP, DB, RSS.

Yeah KRC set the standard pretty high this month! Still, there is always March to get one back, and April, and May... As for the game chosen - these are all picked by members themselves and all games mentioned will be in a monthly poll eventually so feel free to mention a few if you would to like to see them in the comp Just drop em in the Poll Thread *Updated OP, DB, RSS.

I do like the classics My old man is what you would call a typical metaller so i grew up listening to Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, AC/DC all that kinda stuff. I remember being as young as 4-5 and headbanging in the back of my dads car It's surprisingly easy if you play it on a real guitar

Hi there and welcome to the forums, FYI if you use the filter (in the way you have) it will negate merged sets. What merged sets does is group the same rom from multiple regions into one - ie Mario (USA), Mario (EU), Mario (JP), Mario (BETA), Mario (Prototype) etc will become just Mario in your list. Clicking that entry will then open a submenu with all Mario's listed previously. By stating only USA in the filter basically renders "merged sets" useless

Ok, so now you know how the MAME list works! It will come in handy in future for you Try setting Allow Imperfect to True/Yes and Update List again (i know it takes a while, but once you have your list how you like it, it won't need to be done again ) There are many games in MAME that are marked as "imperfect". This can be for many reasons - sometimes for major graphical glitches, others because the sound emulation isn't 100% perfect. The point is most of these games are entirely playable from start to end and are only marked as imperfect for trivial reasons. Try allowing imperfect, update your list and you should have many more games

Controller issues with emulators that don't have Xinput
DazzleHP replied to uberpubert69's topic in General
I wouldn't be so hesitant NOT to! If that adapter is causing the problem, it's only gonna create a ripple effect down the line. You've already noticed how it messes with your main pad in normal use - this hobby is, and i say with much love, a frikkin PITA as it is without making things harder for yourself. I'm willing to bet at this point (after your revelation of it messing with normal operations anyway) that if you unplug that adapter, then configure JoyID's and your emulators, everything will be fine from then on. It's a bold gamble i understand, but i'm betting my rep on it! -
NP! Happens to the best of us Yes launch GameEx, go to MAME, at the very bottom of the list it should be there. You will normally need to do this manually every time you make a change, otherwise you will only see the gamelist you had before you made any changes. If it isn't showing for you, you may have disabled it without realising (we all tend to tinker like mad with GE when we first install it! great fun! ). To make sure it isn't disabled launch the Setup Wizard then Enable/Disable Features. Make sure Hide Update List=No, launch GE.
-
I guess something went wrong Try hitting "More Reply Options" button, you can then attach files In the meantime, can you clarify that you hit "Update List" within GameEx MAME section after you made the changes? You must do this every time you make any changes in the MAME setup
