  1. I have a problem with Playstation roms that use CD audio tracks for the music. Each audio track is saved as a .ape file and is usually followed by "(Track XX)" in the filename. It seems my emulator (pSX) does not recognize these. So what do I do? I do not have this problem with roms that are just a .bin and a .cue. Some games like Wipeout, Tomb Raider, and others, have tons of these .ape files. Do they need to be converted or something?
  2. Would this be a good place for people to ask for help getting specific emulators to work properly, or to discuss what emulators work better than others? Questions that don't neccesarly have to do with Gameex. I'm sure most of our members here are very knowledgable about emulators in general. Because I actually have a few questions about a few emulators, and I think this would be a great place to discuss it. It would make good use of this sub-forum I think. Let me know, I don't want to break any rules or anything.
  3. I have videos and snaps in the same folder and have no problem with that setup at all. I don't see it as a hassle.
  4. OH that explains it. Yeah, the music packs and commercial packs are awesome and there's a bunch of other content not seen anywhere at Emumovies, believe me I looked all over. So thanks alot Tom, this is really cool.
  5. I really can't believe how much STUFF is in the download utility that isn't on the Emumovies website or FTP. Anybody else surprised at that?
  6. I use Nestopia and I have no problems, what exactly what fixed? Was it Something I should be concerned about?
  7. The video on that site is pretty fun to watch. I always loved Mario and I still play the NES games whenever I'm in the mood.
  8. There are so many adult games in mame, not to mention offensive rom hacks and open domain roms for other consoles... I don't think there's any avoiding possibly offensive material occasionally showing up, and besides it is very rare to see that.
  9. I'm glad the controller images show up again! Thank you! Did I mention it looks really nice with the fade effect that you recently added? Well it does.
  10. GameEx just keeps getting better.
  11. That's what I did and it works fine... only problem now is, I have countless games that give me this strange problem. This only happens with PC games. If you load it up through GameEx, after about 1 second GameEx's jukebox will begin playing again. When you exit the emulator, all I see is my desktop, with GameEx playing it's jukebox from somewhere. I have to CTRL+ALT+Delete to GameEx at that point. I have a few games that do that.
  12. The Applocale exe allows you to create a shortcut that will run the program in that language every time. Even found a patch that removes the annoying warning.
  13. Is it possible to have GameEx run an exe in local japanese using AppLocale? Some of my games don't work unless you do that.
  14. I can't believe I got this to work! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  15. I have a Tosec set of the Saturn. Is there anyway for SSF to auto detect the dang region the game is in? PAL, US and JPN games won't load if SSF isn't set up to use that system, which makes having a frontend totally useless, since you have to go into the options to change the system. Anybody have any ideas?
  16. Twotone that ONE post just improved my system 100%!!! Holy smokes I can't believe it was that easy!
  17. SSF. It is your one and ONLY option, as it's a damn fine emulator. Very accurate, but requires a good amount of CPU to run properly. The only problem is you're going to have to have GameEx mount the images in a virtual drive in order to use it. It can't load ISOs from a hard disk. I'd go more into detail, but I have to re-do my Saturn setup actually.... but one thing is for sure... SSF is the only option for it.
  18. Fusion is easiliy the best emulator, and FAR superior to Gens32Surreal. I tried that one out a long time ago and I remember having problems, I think it had better SegaCD support, but since Fusion updated that's no longer true. I only had one 32X rom not work perfectly on Fusion and that was Primal Rage. No sound effects.
  19. Uh-oh, mine's all screwed up for some reason. I did play both of those games recently, they just don't match.
  20. No need to worry, you just place them in your Mame videos folder. The original videos recorded using simple MAME will have to be replaced.
  21. 2 - I cannot speak for most of those... however out of personal experience I can say that newer emulators need a bit more work to get integrated into GameEx properly. I had a hell of a time with NullDC in particular. However hard something may seem though, GameEx is capable of doing it. Pretty much no matter what. In addition, if you need help setting up an emulator... it's got one of the best support forums you'll ever see. 3 - Learn to use "CPWizard" by Headkaze. You'll find the option to use it in GameEx's "Advanced Mame Settings". You're going to need to learn how to use it though, but once you do, there's no limit to what you can do with control panel displays. It also has other features too that are worth integrating into your frontend. It's perfect for MAME, I haven't used it for anything else though. GameEx has a built in control panel viewer, but I prefer using CPWizard. Trust me. 4 - Yes you do. We have things that can help with that to make it as painless as possible. GameEx actually has an option for using close matches, but you might as well go for the standard naming conventions used by most FE users. For that, Emumovies.com is the place to look. Not only that, but it will also supply you with the supplemental artwork and videos you're gonna want to use with GameEx. 5 - That would depend on the THEME. Most of the default themes are simple, Media Center style menus. Lately though, members have been submitting more original, flashy and "arcade-like" themes. Though remember... GameEx also works perfectly as a media center solution, so the media center themes have their place. Check the stickied "User submitted themes and media" thread for some really nice themes, and some great WIPs. Just don't anything like Hyperspin.
  22. I don't know what I did, but mine is working fine. And if you catch a glimpse of it, you know I use GameEx to play games alot. It changes quite frequently.
  23. I'm still using xPadder, but I have to say... the SOUND in this version is amazing! The emulator runs alot better too! This is a MUST HAVE!
  24. The thumbnail creation is working perfectly again. I actually thought it was something -I- did to cause it to stop. And the Shark007 codec pack is working flawlessly. I don't remember GameEx ever working this well with videos, though it may be because I never used this codec pack until I heard about it in a recent thread. So finally, with the Shark007 (or K-Lite I'm assuming) codec packs and the latest version of GameEx, nobody should have any problems with videos. That is awesome!
  25. I go to work for 8 hours and when I get back....BOOM... all the GameEx issues are fixed! This is superb, I really can't thank you enough Tom.
