  1. Currently the pop-up descriptions/ratings are enabled for the V1 and V3 themes (which is the majority of default themes). I am a bit stoked to see it on the V4 themes along with a toggle feature in the future!
  2. Here is the Logo Pack I promised that I created as I was making the Sins of a Solar Empire theme. They are good for any theme that can support them! Give 'em a go and let me know what ya think! I have enclosed the PSD and XCF files for creating your own with Photoshop and GIMP respectively. Below are few more that were made after I sent up the pack to Tom.
  3. Can you provide a sample pic and also copy of your log file and gameex.ini (will need to save as text file as forum will not accept uploads of ini files)? If you can also tell us what version them you are using and if you have enabled via Theme Editor under Options the disable color key? (works for V4 themes).
  4. A few more just to tease...
  5. I checked and the DPI for the ones I have are 300x300. tried googling carbon fiber for a higher res but was not able to find anything easily.
  6. starbuck - That is something I might consider. This project will take considerably more time as it is and, each item that is added needs to have a reflection, you have to add a mask and apply the fade effect. This will easily double the time to create each logo. - BritInVA - I am no master. Just a more experienced student.
  7. I definitely like this one better than the first. While the Simpsons are a game title or two, they didn't quite fit as well. Good job!
  8. Not too shabby at all! Great first attempt for certain! Kinda makes me a little misty..
  9. Clear your cache files and see if that helps.
  10. More money than common sense. I have to agree with you. The same dillweed would be crying like a bitch to the cops if the money he wasted on that handheld was taken from him, yet doesn't think twice about wasting it for the sake of 3 mins of viral video fame.
  11. Here are a few logo files I tossed together while tinkering with transparency effects, masks, etc. Let me know what ya think!
  12. Would be cool if you could send it to another monitor by saving the snap to a specific folder for game extender with the specific file name. Not sure how you will set it for each time an emulator is open, but you could probably set it up to take pics at a specific interval (although it does say you can trigger it by a hotkey). Just make sure the hotkey is not enabled should they find your digiporn collection..
  13. Not gonna use THAT emulator!
  14. Always willing to lend a hand!
  15. To be honest, I have not created much in original images. Just creative cropping, copying & pasting with a little filter wizardry thrown in for good measure.
  16. Probably wouldn't hurt to update your version of XP to SP 2 or 3. Start with your windows updates, then work on devices - see if there are updates available for your USB, etc. Best place to start would be the HP site for your PC so that you can get the latest drivers they have available. You could try plugging them in into different USB connectors to see if that makes a difference. Maybe updating your version of mameuifx if you haven't done so yet will help.
  17. Have you upgraded to the latest release - 11.64? You say it worked well before. Do you recall what version of GameEx you had installed. Since the spinner and trackball are USB, have there been any recent additions to your rig that require USB connectivity? If it turns out to not be a graphics issue, that would be my next target for troubleshooting.
  18. I would also recommend upgrading to 11.64 as it addresses some video issues and may be a little less resource intensive. I do have a question - are you using an onboard graphics adapter? Below are the minimum recommended system requirements: - Pentium 3 800Mhz CPU (or equivalent) - OK - DirectX(DirectDraw) Compatible Video card, capable of 16 bit colour at 640X480. [Your video card does not normally need to be too special unless using videos or DVD, although older motherboard onboard video is not recommended] - Uncertain, but based upon 466 MB RAM being reported for the OS, likely 512MB shared with onboard video. - DirectSound Compatible Sound Card. - OK - 256MB Ram - OK - Windows 2000 (SP4), XP (SP2), MCE, Vista, Windows 7 - Version 5.1.2600 is XP SP1 - Recommend updating to at least SP2, although SP3 is the latest and last XP service pack. - 250MB Free hard drive space - OK - Microsoft .net framework 2 service pack 1 - Uncertain as only displaying as .net Framework 2.0 - Microsoft Direct X 9.0 - Uncertain - Windows Media Player 9 or above - OK If you are running oboard video, would recommend an AGP or PCI video card with a minimum of 256 MB (512+MB optimal) RAM installed on the adapter and disabling the onboard video (instructions are usually specific to the BIOS or manufacturer). Also, if you can confirm the items showing as uncertain.
  19. R-DUB - thanks for the feedback! Hopefully this will resolve Gizmo's lag issues to the trackball!
  20. Awesome update - almost a new build! Can't wait to get home to try it out! Thanks, Tom!
  21. Huh? When you compile you use the diff files for the interim builds for the version. Not sure I am following you. Anyways, the 0.142 release should be out in a week or two so it won't matter - just gonna download that instead of compiling for the u builds and compile the hi score fix accordingly to rid the nag screens and enable hi score support.
  22. hmmm... a little perplexing to say the least. What kind of PC/motherboard are you using for your build? Does it have an onboard (built-in) graphics adapter? One of our other members was having an issue with an older PC that had a built-in GPU that was not thoroughly disabled. Not quite the problems you are having but would be curious none-the-less to find out.
  23. I haven't compiled the latest 141u4 build but have found that the UI seems to be less problematic as of late than the cmd line MAME builds. Not sure why unless there is something in the GUI that does a better job of handling the bezels than vanilla.
  24. Of course, you could possibly setup Adobe Reader as an external app so that you can use its zoom features if need be.
  25. One other question - are you using an arcade monitor? Again, not familiar with using the ArcadgeVGA adapter, so taking my best stabs at a possible solution. There are quite a few that use this adapter and it seems that there is often issues with the drivers that conflict with the performance when used within GameEX, but seem to be a non-issue with other video adapters and resolutions or an updated driver.
