  1. Silver X - Thanks first for sharing! Great theme - a simple, list-oriented design that pulls in the desired functions without overloading the display elements. My son loves anything bio-hazard - Resident Evil - zombie oriented and your background nails that for him for certain!
  2. Have you checked within MAME > Default Game Propeties > Miscellaneous to enable Bezels, Backdrops, and Overlays? This would be set within MAME itself, not GameEx.
  3. Skye25 - can you zip your gameex.ini and theme.ini files and upload them to this thread? A screen image of what you are speaking in addition may also help. Also, try deleting all files with cache in the file name under the data directory and let us know if that remedies the issue. Thanks!
  4. Having formerly worked for a company that prides itself on security, encrypting data is not that difficult! Like, Sony, WTF dudes! If you can crapify video and music files with DRM and sue "pr8s", why can't you encrypt the personally identifiable info of your customers? I guess we know what is really most important to ya!
  5. Awesome! I appreciate seeing more join - always good to see more mates on board with GameEx! The more users the more it evolves as they contribute their enthusiasm and ideas and we all benefit as a result!
  6. Yes - don't forget the fabulous prizes!
  7. Glad you are able to get it to work to meet your needs! Are we OK to mark this resolved for you? I will submit the feature request for an expansion on the login feature.
  8. Theme Title: Enter the Dragon Theme Type: HTPC Theme Version: V4 Theme Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Theme Description: Two-tone wood elements with an Asian flare. Theme Features: Large collection of original logos with and without system images. - Extensive Photoshop PSD and GIMP XCF files included for custom foreground and background files creation. - Theme-based Vertical Bezel and Windows Desktop/Logon Screen included - Works well with default menu or custom menu layouts. - Makes good use of transparencies with Color Key disabled. Date Submitted: 06/03/2011 Download URL: http://www.gameex.co...he%20Dragon.zip Download Size: 132 MB Additional Notes: Give it a try, let me know what ya think. Simplicity of display was the goal without appearing too busy with too many visual elements in the design itself, while keeping with most GameEx features enabled.
  9. She said yes, so seems ya already have the luck! Keeping the horseshoe with the ends facing up is the challenge before you now! Congrats!
  10. Ian - Well, I have done some preliminary testing and this is what I have found. Login doesn't play well with custom menus. If I have custom menus enabled (which I do), some of the disabled features still show as items in the list. I am not sure if this is a caching issue (doubtful) or just because of the fact that custom menus touches everything globally regardless (which I believe is most likely the case). It may play better with a vanilla setup (i.e., GameEx default menus). Login does retain the theme selected for the logon ID. This worked flawlessly and kept the entirety of the theme selected for the test logon ID, including logos, layout, etc. What I would like to see is something a little more mature in this feature that will allow full administrative control over what is displayed/enabled than what is available currently so that when setting up a more restricted profile, all one would need to do is select Enable or Disable for the functionality based upon the Administrator's Configuration as the template (regardless of vanilla or custom menus and the option to disable custom menus for a logon profile other than the Administrator's. For example: Feature Default John Susie Enable Search Yes Yes No Show Statistics Yes No No Enable Auto GameEx Update Yes No No Use Custom Menus Yes No Yes Could utilize the drop-downs for multiple options under each feature as present in the Setup Wizard or Advanced Configuration in addition to emus listed separately for enable/disable to further secure access for each. Also would need to ensure each user has their own GameEx.ini, custom.ini and other configuration files that will be accessed as opposed to the system defaults. It appears that the configurations are setup to do just that in most cases. If this sounds good to you to include with your feature request, please feel free to submit under the feature requests thread in the Pinned and Hot Topics forum. Mike
  11. LOL! You are too much! My little pwny!
  12. Interesting. So you like to taunt yourself daily with your virtually pwnage? BTW - WTH is "pwnage?" I know it is a typo reference. Just never understood why it became a meme. I don't like memes. Too close to mimes. I don't like mimes. Now, if they were zombie mimes, I still wouldn't like them, but I would at least be able to shoot them, Zombie Apocalypse and all. DOUBLE TAP!
  13. Very clean, crisp and very well polished! I look forward to seeing it in action! Be sure to post in the User Submitted Themes & Media in the Pinned and Hot Topics forum after you upload your zipped theme to the gameex.com site! As always we appreciate the shares from our members! EDIT - Or in the User Themes Competition!
  14. I will look into it a little deeper but may take some time. Not sure if what you want to do is possible through use of Custom Menus in conjunction with Advanced Config disabling unused features but can test and get back to ya.
  15. Like many other programs, there is no specific naming convention for the files (i.e., Artist Name - Song Title, etc.).
  16. Ian - Let us know if you need any assistance. It is great if you want to setup separate themes for each person, restrict to certain accesses, etc. So if you wanted to have Adult games enabled under your login but not the kids, you could do so by disabling such while under their logon. Now I am not sure how you would go about disabling access to advanced configuration as once you do so under that logon, you probably can't access it without modifying the gameex.ini file under that user's name. Mayhaps this is an enhancement request!
  17. Probably because of the handle - it is similar to the male pirate character in the Soul Edge/Caliber series.
  18. Off Topic again - Honestly, would love to see more "girlie gamers" in the forums here and the emu community in general. While the GameEx forums tend to keep the testosterone in check, others are not so well maintained. It seems that some of the other forum sites are plagued by the same mentality that sours the fun that could be had in the online gaming communities.
  19. Ian - Celly has provided a good document for setting up Daphne here. I would review the pdf in his post and setup accordingly.
  20. Ha! Good thing for me I am a leg man! Your chest is just a place to hang another target as far as I am concerned. I have encountered a few girl gamers that are alright. Some are real mouthy and annoying (like 90% of the males that feel that they have to prove something to the rest). I play for the fun and relaxation after a rough day at work so usually turn the volume down on the headset and hear very little of it.
  21. Is anyone aware of a free Karaoke file manager similar to KJ File Manager that has the same functionality but doesn't cost so much? $79 USD is quite a chunk of change for those of us that may only use the functionality on an occasional basis.
  22. Both actually. The kit can be assembled to use either just the pedestal or bolt on the top for the marquee and bezel for the full effect. The pedestal piece is very similar to a design I came up with a few years ago surprisingly.
  23. @Hunk_4th - Looks great! x2 on the LCD. A 20-22" should be fine for most things and will not add appreciably to any heat issues, unlike the CRT. @Adultery - I am seriously considering the Xtension Arcade as it has received some good reviews and seems to be the right price point (cheap) in addition to providing some flexibility. May also look at a multi SATA HDD block for multiple drives. May have to hold onto my old PC speaker set and PSU.
