  1. I think (although i'm not 100% sure) that you should run soft-15khz while you have a standard pc monitor connected and configure it there because if you connected an arcade monitor before doing this it's unlikely the arcade monitor will be able to sync to the graphics card. EDIT: Brian bet me to it !
  2. 3) Perhaps only display info if you move the trackball or joystick etc ?
  3. I'd stay away from Wells Gardner monitors because they have reliability issues (guys over at BYOAC will tell you the same).
  4. Hi Spuds. Just wondering where on Dell's site you found a list of compatible video cards. I can't seem to find it after i enter in my service tag number. Thanks.
  5. Hey spuds. I just thought of something. I got a dell optiplex gx-240 out of work (it was considered outdated) and put xp pro on it. The graphics card that came with had an ati chipset on it (rage pro 128, i think). When i tried to put a different graphics card in it (ArcadeVGA2 agv version) i could get no picture past the bios screen - it was just blank. On asking about this over on the Ultimarc forum, i was told that on some models dell have custom bios that will not allow you to use any old graphics card (just ones approved by dell). It's just a word of warning. Like Emphatic suggested don't spend much money on the card (as it may not work). I'm wondering if it's possible to change the bios to get around this problem. Anyone ?
  6. Hi Spuds. I'd leave the arcade monitor in the cab and use it (i think it's a 25"). Best bet for help with the arcade monitor and Soft-15Khz is over at the BYOAC Monitor/Video Forum. They should be better able to help with your dilemma. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?board=4.0
  7. Soft-15khz is for use with arcade (CRT) monitors.

I'm not sure exactly what you want to do, but if it is what LB11 is suggesting, Tom (Author of GameEX) wont approve as he does not want GameEx to be bundled with roms.
  9. Great Circo ! I've been waiting eagerly for this ! Thanks for your hard work !
  10. You should of bought a lawnmower too
  11. Wow ! I'm speechless. In the future will you be the only individual developing GameEX or will there a development team and will you have full control over where (like what new features) GameEx is going ? Just curious. Thanks, ian.
  12. Hi. I use bootskin from stardock http://www.stardock.com/products/bootskin/ in conjuction with Tom's instantsheller. There are a good few bootskins for this program knocking about. There are also 2 GameEX bootskins on Tom's site with animated progress bars.
  13. Thanks Tom !
  14. Hi. I'm just starting to put together a HTPC setup and was wondering if you need both 1.1 & 2.0 of .net installed on your pc. I know i have both on my other setup but was just wondering if it's necessary to have both ? Cheers.
  15. Nice one. Thanks Tom !
  16. Same here. I think short phrases work better.
  17. Very impressive ! Thanks Tom !
  18. Exit GameEX and go into the zsnes folder on you hard drive. Look for the zsnes executable (the icon with the coloured snes controller buttons) and double click it. It should open the zsnes gui. You can (i think) select your setup options there first. Try getting a game to run from the gui. I think the general approach is to first setup an emulator outside GameEX (GameEX not running) and configure it first. When you're happy it's working fine there, then try to get it working with GameEX.
  19. I think you have to set that in the zsnes gui or config file.
  20. Hi. What's the difference between V1 & V2 themes ? Sorry, but there doesn't seem to be much info about the whole theme thing.
  21. Are you using the 1.51 official release (not a work in progress release) ?
  22. If your rom appears to load with sound and a blank screen you could try messing with the 'Show Desktop' option (true/false) for that emulator. EDIT: I see you have it set to 'False' - try setting it to 'True' and see what happens.
  23. It's Soft-15Khz. You'll find it over at BYOAC forums in the monitor/video forum. I think the thread is stickied. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=66402.0
  24. Hi. I can definitely recommend GrooveyGameGear's led-wiz 32 port controllers and their rgb leds / buttons. Headkaze's lcd plugin for GameEX is brilliant. I initially bought standard pushbuttons with microswitches as this hardware was not available at the time i bought the standard stuff. But if you really want the animated lighting stuff why bother with the non lighted stuff. I wouldn't bother with the Ultimarc lighting solution (although i really love Andy's products) because it's a bit limited (single color leds) unless you're on a budget. But to be honest i've tried to buy cheap but ended up getting 'the real deal' so to speak and in the end you only end up paying for stuff that you'll eventually upgrade. It will cost you though. Just my 2 cents...
