Please don't implement Roms in folders, or at the very least, have it turn-on-and-off-able (© ardman studios). Not only would unzipped have to be moved to temp (if it is not already), but I keep my rom folders in this fashion, <Romfolder>/all my roms that work <Romfolder>/Nonworking <Romfolder>/To Test This is particually helpfull for emu's like dreamcast and Saturn where emu is a bit hit-and-miss. If I keep the nonworking roms/iso's in a nestled folder then it is very easy to check and maintain them upon a new emulator release. Not sure if anyone else does this, but it is much better than keeping them all in the same directory and playing russian roulette everytime you launch a game from gameex.
