  1. That's why I decided to just leave a wifi adapter connected to my pincab. I don't have visual pinball or future pinball at this point. Just PBA and now PBFX3, and trying to disable that steam is offline message every time I booted the cab was baffling me so I gave up.
  2. Much as I'd love to be able to make and contribute these, I'm completely incompetent in Photoshop. Has anyone had a chance yet to create backglass/wheel images for PinballFX3? I found older media for the FX2 games that were ported over to FX3, so I'm mostly after the new Universal table media. Thanks!
  3. Update to the newest version of PinballX if you haven't already, it adds PinballFX3 to the settings so you can set it up through that.
  4. I'm curious about this too. I did not have Pinball FX2 before the release of PBFX3, and it looks like you cannot download FX2 from steam now. So those FX2 tables that did not get ported into FX3 are...gone? I bought the South Park tables(which are not in FX3) along with the Universal pack, Star Wars, Fox, etc. Haven't had much time to fiddle/search yet so I'm not sure what the solution is.
  5. Oh! I gotcha, I misunderstood the issue. Thanks for being on top of it, Tom.
  6. I’m curious about this too. Got PBA up and running beautifully thanks to the latest version of PBX, but now that PBFX3 has launched, I decided to add it to my cab. Not to derail your topic, but how exactly do you get cabinet mode on pinball fx3 for a first time user? Haven’t had time to do anything other than download the software and buy the universal tables. Did you read this topic? You should be able to add any table to game manager.
  7. So I've had an issue for a while now where Pinball Arcade does not save high scores when I exit using PBX. Anyone else experience this? Thanks for any input! EDIT: Come to think of it, I have a second issue. I've tried adding table images and table videos and I can't get either to work in PBX for PBA. Backglass images and wheel images display fine.
  8. Pinball Arcade is working flawlessly now thanks to Tom and I'm starting to think I need to set up Pinball FX also! Some very cool tables on there. Also nice to see that Zen is so supportive of the community and offers actual cab support.
  9. I was afraid updating would require more setup work or something else would stop working, as this is my first pincab and first time using PinballX. But that did the trick! Thanks for all your work, Tom. You're a gentleman and a scholar.
  10. Ooh! That's not good. But an excuse to get more tools/bits is always good.
  11. So adding a parameter to an existing .exe is done simply by adding the parameter, in this case "skipwhatsnew," to the target? So it would change the .exe name to "pinballarcade11 -skipwhatsnew.exe"? Probably a dumb question, but never done this before and can't find anything from Googling, other than editing stuff in like C# etc.
  12. I'm in the process of making a wood "lockdown bar" for my cab also! Although the 80s Craftsman router I picked up for $20 on CL has been great so far!
  13. Awesome, thanks! Will try it ASAP!
  14. Plus there's all the tables PBA will NEVER get, that's a bit of a drawback. Now personally, when I put my pincab together, I didn't WANT to just cram hundreds of tables on there. I want a few classics to really enjoy and spend time learning. I've made that mistake with bartop arcades; loaded them with thousands of ROMs and only play a handful. No one has time to play a large assortment regularly, we pick a few we like and stick to them anyway. I still think the software itself is great, but I'm biased because the iOS app is what made me decide to put together a pincab.
  15. Honestly it came down to the fact that I like their software, I think the physics are good, and for once I wanted to legitimately buy something instead of downloading it for free. I guess they don't want our money that badly. EDIT: Yeah, I looked at the Arcooda tables after Farsight support emailed me. Not my cup of tea, seems like something for the much younger generation, since they think everything is a touch screen anyway.
  16. Glad to hear it. I'm still cleaning up the backyard! Had no power for about two days, better than last year when we were without for about five!
  17. I don't feel bad now using PBX to launch ANY table of theirs I want...
  18. So for some reason, that message stopped displaying on its own. Maybe you were right Draco, and it was just a temporary thing promoting the new table. Now I need to get everything set to offline before an update ruins everything! Thanks for your reply. BTW, how'd you fare in the storm? My mother in law lives in Orange Park right outside of Jax and there was some bad flooding up that way. Thankfully, down in Ormond Beach where my wife and I live didn't get it too bad.
  19. It's like a "what's new" message from Pinball Arcade once it launches, right now it's advertising their latest table release World Cup Soccer. I swear I saw something somewhere on a forum that had a parameter you can add to the launch .exe to stop that from displaying. It's so frustrating being so close to being able to run PBA in a perfect cabinet only control mode, no keyboard or mouse!
  20. Ok, I've searched the forums and done a ton of Googling, to no avail. I know I saw somewhere in the past that there is a way to disable the new table ad when Pinball Arcade(Steam version) launches. Does anyone know how this is done? I have my cab launching tables properly through PBX now thanks to bduncan's info from: Basically now through PinballX I can select a table, PBA launches with PBAFreeCamMod running, but then that stupid ad for world cup soccer comes up! If I even move the mouse a bit, it will automatically close then launch the table I selected in PBX, otherwise it will sit on that screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  21. I know some others may have still been holding out a foolish hope that Farsight would officially release cab support, but I got this reply from their support team recently. Me: "Hello, I am sure you receive many inquiries about this, but are there any plans to include cabinet support at present? I am sure many of your customers, myself included, would be more than happy to pay an additional fee for this feature, fund a kickstarter, etc., to make this possible. Your software is superb, and I'd much prefer using it and legitimately purchased pinball tables over some of the shadier emulation options available. Thank you." Farsight Support: "Hello there! We are not able to release full cab support due to some licensing issues, but we have recently released on Arcooda Cabinets. There are also a few mods on the Pinball Arcade fans forum that will get the game working properly. " I guess most people probably moved on from that possibility already, but I was still hopeful. :/
  22. Has anyone put together a tutorial for getting PBA launching tables from PBX properly using these AHK scripts? I've been fiddling for a while now, tried other users' solutions, and I can't seem to get them launching properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated! My cab is so close, just need to get the software running smoothly. Thanks! EDIT: Following bduncan's process, I now have PinballX launching PBA tables perfectly! There's a small snag. PBA shows the "what's new" message on launch and that is interfering right now. Anyone know how to disable that message from showing on startup? Thanks!
