[APP] NukeLauncher - NukePA for (The Pinball Arcade)
time299 replied to time299's topic in User Projects
UPDATE: I am launching in the next few days. I'm just finalizing the last few features like "block key" for you (Chosen_s) and a LaunchBefore and LaunchAfter feature for people wanting to use LEDWiz. BTW: Both of those features will be added to the next release of the PinballFX2 NukeLauncher as well. Please be patient with me, My Wife has terminal brain cancer (glioblastoma astrocytoma Grade 3-4) and she is already past the 24 months that she was expected to live. Some days I plain on working on this stuff, (which I love to do) but she needs me more, so I choose her over pinball stuff. I only mention this so you guy know why I may be missing from the forums for a whole week at a time or miss a deadline I set for finishing a project like this one. We have many medical appointment / scans / chemo / blood tests every week for the rest of her life, it's quite a juggling act. It's coming very soon and I hope it breaths new life into Pinball Arcade for all of you (I know I love it 10X more now that I have it setup in PinballX) and maybe we can get the guys over at Farsight Studios thinking more like the guys over at Zen Studios and give us DMD/Cabinet support. ajcl Just for the record NukeLauncher does not fores or require you use ESC as the exit key. That is just the default key I use, but you can set it to anything you want in the NukeLauncher.INI under KeyBindings / KB_Escape = esc. If you change it to KB_Escape = q then the exit key is set to your q key and if you are using a joystick its a bit more involved figuring out what to enter. But I posted some links previously in this thread on how to do that. I hope that help clear that up Jeff / Time299

Luukvg Looking at your files the issue you are having is caused by the fact that you are missing the two south park tables from your Pinball FX2.XML and your NukeLauncher.ini The current release of NukeLauncher was release just prior to the ZEN's release of those two new tables, so you need to add them manually. See the support section, here to fix it. http://www.nukelauncher.com/item.asp?iid=13#AddNewTable

[APP] NukeLauncher - NukePA for (The Pinball Arcade)
time299 replied to time299's topic in User Projects
Not yet, I have gotten 0 response on my two questions and that is slowing things down a bit because, I have no idea what other peoples setups are like. From my original post above: 1. Can you all post the version number you are using and your table counts. This will help me know what my launcher will need to deal with as far as different configurations. 2. What are you guys planning on using for media. Most table logos and Backglass's can be obtained from VP tables or the FTP section here on PinballX, but play-field screenshots/videos and DMD videos for TPA version don't exist that I know of.- 252 replies

Ok, that's is why it's not exiting. See Pinball FX2 has no native key for a instant exit or quit. So I wrote NukeLauncher to overcome this limitation by manually simulating three different exit methods as I mentioned in my last post. All three methods rely on one crucial thing the exit key-binding you set in the NukeLauncher ini file. By default it is set to "esc", so you see you are never telling NukeLauncher you want to exit. It's waiting for you to hit the esc key and you never do. But you do have PinballX setup to look for your joystick button and so PinballX grabs focus away from Pinball FX2 and puts you back in its menu. Meanwhile Pinball FX2 and NukeLauncher are still running unaware you wanted to exit. I wrote NukeLauncher for maximum flexibility so you can change it to any key-binding you want. NukeLauncher was written with AHK (Auto Hot Key) and mapping joystick commands is a little more difficult than keyboard commands. Take a look at the link below and see if you can use the test script that they refer to in the joystick section. http://www.autohotke...ocs/KeyList.htm See if you can figure out the exact command for the your joystick button that you want to use for your exit button. Then edit the line KB_Escape near the bottom of your NukeLauncher.ini, in the section labeled [KeyBindings] it should look something like this. KB_Escape = esc Where the "esc" is, enter the joystick button command you figure out using the test script from joystick section on the autohotkey.com site. That should correct your issue, I can't do this for your because most joystick configurations are numbered and mine would most likely be different from yours. Also, I don't have a joystick to test with anyway. Please post back your findings, so that it may help other people who might have a similar issue. Jeff

What exit method are you using? Are you using a keymapper program? Have you tried all three exit methods? (see below) ExitMethod= This changes how the exit key works. Available values are kill, savekill, and saveexit."kill" will send an ALT F4 and that will exit Pinball FX2."savekill" will enter the keystrokes to exit the table you are playing and give Pinball FX2 enough time to save your progress, then send an ALT F4 to close Pinball FX2."saveexit" will enter the keystrokes to exit the table you are playing and give Pinball FX2 enough time to save your progress, then move the pointer to Pinball FX2's exit button and close the program through its normal mechanism. Can you attach your nukelauncher.ini and your PinballX.ini so we can take a look at your setup. A screen shot might also be helpful. Jeff

Your nukelauncher.ini has a variable called PinballTables all tables shown in your Pinball FX2 main menu must be listed there with a comma separating each one. As outlined in the support documentation here http://www.nukelauncher.com/item.asp?iid=13#DifferentOrder Yours is missing two tables and is in the wrong order. So you need to add the two south park tables and rearrange the rest to match your specific layout. If you owned all of the tables you would just need to add the two south park tables to the beginning. But because you only own two tables Pinball FX2 has moved them to the top left. throwing the whole menu out of whack. NukeLauncher does not have a GUI, it's a command line launcher. So I provided a numbered image on the support page to help you do what you are asking for. The image shows all of the numbers and the standard positions of all of the tables. Yours will look different because you only own two tables. There is no way for NukeLauncher to know what tables you own and what tables you don't. That is why the NukeLauncher.ini lets you enter your own specific order in the "PinballTables" variable. http://www.nukelauncher.com/item.asp?iid=13#StartLocation Try adjusting that stuff and let us know how it goes. I really need to see those files and the screen shot. I'm sure it's something simple. One thing that stood out in your post was your football location. With the newest tables Zen has released that should push the football table back to position #14 and many other people have also told me this is the location that there football table is now in. So I was surprised by your post because I have not heard of anyone with the Football in that position #15. That is not a problem for NukeLauncher I designed it with just such issues in mind. I was working to help support a guy today by email that had a setup were the first three tables were different because those are the only three tables he owned. So Pinball FX2 moved those three tables to the first three positions. I just checked out you Pinball Cab Project (http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=28697) and it looks like it's coming along nicely. I am very jealous, One day I will have one. Send me your files, I'm sure the issue will be easy to resolve. Jeff

Considering creating a NukeLauncher for (The Pinball Arcade)
time299 replied to time299's topic in User Projects
Ok, I am on board. I just created a new topic for this project please refer to http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/15308-app-new-nukelauncher-for-the-pinball-arcade/ -
Hey All New NukeLauncher for Pinball Arcade - NukePA is the only reliable Pinball Arcade command line launcher. NukePA is now live so go get it here. Download Page If you can help donate to the project please use this paypal donation link Thanks, Jeff / Time299 Command Line Example: Make sure you have quotes around the [TABLEFILE] variable, see below this is how your PinballX.ini should look. PinballX Example: [System_2] Name=Pinball Arcade Enabled=True WorkingPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam TablePath= Executable=NukePA.exe Parameters="[TABLEFILE]" SystemType=0 LaunchBeforeEnabled=False I have put some work into making it really easy to setup your tables. Below are sets of XML files you can download and save into your C:\PinballX\Databases\Pinball Arcade\Pinball Arcade.xml location and matching "PinballTables = " values you can copy and paste directly into your NukePA.ini file. Also if you are using the NukePA Media Pack everything matches up. Note to anyone that is using the NukePA Media Pack you should rename all the images for "Theater of Magic" to "Theatre of Magic" Some web browsers want to open XML files instead of downloading them, so to get around that just right click on the link and select "Save As" or "Save Target as" then pick the folder "C:\PinballX\Databases\Pinball Arcade\" and then rename the file "Pinball Arcade.XML" Single Seasons Season 1 PinballTables = Attack From Mars,Big Shot,Black Hole,Black Knight,Bride Of Pin-Bot,Cirqus Voltaire,Creature from the Black Lagoon,Elvira and the Party Monsters,Funhouse,Genie,Gorgar,Harley-Davidson,Medieval Madness,Monster Bash,No Good Gofers,Ripleys Believe It or Not,Scared Stiff,Star Trek The Next Generation,Tales of the Arabian Nights,Taxi,Theatre of Magic,Twilight Zone,Download matching XML Season 2 PinballTables = Cactus Canyon,Centaur,Central Park,Champion Pub,Class 1812,Cue Ball Wizard,Dr. Dude,ElDorado City Of Gold,Firepower,Flight 2000,Goin Nuts,Haunted House,PIN-BOT,Space Shuttle,Tee'd Off,Terminator 2,Victory,Whirlwind,Whitewater,Download matching XML Season 3 PinballTables = Black Knight 2000,Black Rose,Bram Stokers Dracula,Diner,Fish Tales,High Roller Casino,High-Speed,Junk Yard,Lights Camera Action,WHO Dunnit,Download matching XML Season 4 PinballTables = EarthShaker,Party Zone,Phantom of the Opera,Download matching XML Multiple Seasons Seasons 1-2 PinballTables = Attack From Mars,Big Shot,Black Hole,Black Knight,Bride Of Pin-Bot,Cactus Canyon,Centaur,Central Park,Champion Pub,Cirqus Voltaire,Class 1812,Creature from the Black Lagoon,Cue Ball Wizard,Dr. Dude,ElDorado City Of Gold,Elvira and the Party Monsters,Firepower,Flight 2000,Funhouse,Genie,Goin Nuts,Gorgar,Harley-Davidson,Haunted House,Medieval Madness,Monster Bash,No Good Gofers,PIN-BOT,Ripleys Believe It or Not,Scared Stiff,Space Shuttle,Star Trek The Next Generation,Tales of the Arabian Nights,Taxi,Tee'd Off,Terminator 2,Theatre of Magic,Twilight Zone,Victory,Whirlwind,Whitewater,Download matching XML Seasons 1-3 PinballTables = Attack From Mars,Big Shot,Black Hole,Black Knight,Black Knight 2000,Black Rose,Bram Stokers Dracula,Bride Of Pin-Bot,Cactus Canyon,Centaur,Central Park,Champion Pub,Cirqus Voltaire,Class 1812,Creature from the Black Lagoon,Cue Ball Wizard,Diner,Dr. Dude,ElDorado City Of Gold,Elvira and the Party Monsters,Firepower,Fish Tales,Flight 2000,Funhouse,Genie,Goin Nuts,Gorgar,Harley-Davidson,Haunted House,High Roller Casino,High-Speed,Junk Yard,Lights Camera Action,Medieval Madness,Monster Bash,No Good Gofers,PIN-BOT,Ripleys Believe It or Not,Scared Stiff,Space Shuttle,Star Trek The Next Generation,Tales of the Arabian Nights,Taxi,Tee'd Off,Terminator 2,Theatre of Magic,Twilight Zone,Victory,Whirlwind,Whitewater,WHO Dunnit,Download matching XML Seasons 1-4 PinballTables = Attack From Mars,Big Shot,Black Hole,Black Knight,Black Knight 2000,Black Rose,Bram Stokers Dracula,Bride Of Pin-Bot,Cactus Canyon,Centaur,Central Park,Champion Pub,Cirqus Voltaire,Class 1812,Creature from the Black Lagoon,Cue Ball Wizard,Diner,Dr. Dude,EarthShaker,ElDorado City Of Gold,Elvira and the Party Monsters,Firepower,Fish Tales,Flight 2000,Funhouse,Genie,Goin Nuts,Gorgar,Harley-Davidson,Haunted House,High Roller Casino,High-Speed,Junk Yard,Lights Camera Action,Medieval Madness,Monster Bash,No Good Gofers,Party Zone,Phantom of the Opera,PIN-BOT,Ripleys Believe It or Not,Scared Stiff,Space Shuttle,Star Trek The Next Generation,Tales of the Arabian Nights,Taxi,Tee'd Off,Terminator 2,Theatre of Magic,Twilight Zone,Victory,Whirlwind,Whitewater,WHO Dunnit,Download matching XML Full documentation is on the NukeLauncher Site.http://www.nukelauncher.com/item.asp?iid=33Thanks, Jeff

Considering creating a NukeLauncher for (The Pinball Arcade)
time299 replied to time299's topic in User Projects
Yea, I was not thinking I would get rich or even break even from my work. I am just trying to see what the interest level is and it seems really really low. Like 3 people, so it seems like it might not be worth the effort and time to build a launcher. -
The videos would be great. I'm not sure about the v2 virtua pin controller I have no experience with it. Take a look at this and see if you can use the test script that they refer to in the joystick section. http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList.htm See if you can figure out the exact command for the button you want to use for your exit button. Then edit the line KB_Escape near the bottom of your NukeLauncher.ini, in the section labeled [KeyBindings] it should look something like this. KB_Escape = esc Where the "esc" is, enter the joystick button command you found using the test script from joystick section on the autohotkey.com site. I have no idea if that will work but it might. I wish I could help more, but I don't have anything to test that with.

Considering creating a NukeLauncher for (The Pinball Arcade)
time299 replied to time299's topic in User Projects
I'm a little hesitant to work on it because only three people want it and I can't even afford to buy the game. I just did some testing with the trial and was able to select tables consistently, but then I was having trouble with the Order, Alphabetization / XML matching tables up. I'm just not sure it's worth it. If I end up putting 40hrs in and get three or four donations. I will be more broke than I am now. -
Hey Guys I am so sorry about the delay in the media pack promised to donors on the website. I had to travel out of state to see my son graduate and I had hoped to finish the media pack before I left, however I was not happy with the DMD videos, so I re-edited them all and that taken a lot of time. Now that I am back I will get this done ASAP. I will email the donors as soon as it’s all done, most likely later today. Again thanks you for the support. Jeff

For those who don't know what NukeLauncher is,it's a Pinball FX2 launcher that automated the table selection with a bunch of other features. Here is a link to the main post about NukeLuncher http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/15201-app-nukelauncher-is-now-available-to-all-pinball-fx2-launcher/

Hey guys, Anyone have a video of NukeLauncher in action. I don't have a pinball cab setup yet, but I want to add a video to the NukeLauncher site. So i'm calling on my new friends here to make some videos. I would prefer videos of Pinball Cabs, but I will take what I can get. I will post the video on the NukeLauncher site and give credit to you for donating the video. If I get several videos submissions I will pick my favorite. I may setup a page for the others, but it depends on how many I receive. Post it to YouTube and send me a privet message with a link. Thanks, Jeff / time299

Considering creating a NukeLauncher for (The Pinball Arcade)
time299 replied to time299's topic in User Projects
Thanks for the offer, but I already have a great start using my NukeLauncher code and I have already solved the biggest problem most have had with keystrokes being missed or skipped. I am working on more complicated things like table name detection and table ordering from an XML and alphabetization issues. If you want to help. Go post in other forms to get the word out, so people will know I am working on this. Try to get them to come here and vote in the poll. I need this feedback to gauge interest level. The more people want it the more willing I am to put more time into it. Thanks, Andyco -
No problem, I'm happy to help, I was just scratching my head thinking WTF nothing is matching up. Yea that database that horsey's posted is very old now. If you look on the NukeLauncher site under support XMLFile= I have a link to a current updated XML file with all of the current tables. http://www.nukelauncher.com/item.asp?iid=13#XMLFile Go grab that for a starting point then edit it by changing the <game name="xxxxx"> to match your media file names for each table instead of mine. Also make sure all of the tables in my XML are present in your version of Pinball FX2. That is why in the docs I was saying take a screen shot or write all of your table names down, so you know everything in your XML matches up with everything in your version of pinball FX2. Then clear the three variables I mentioned in my previous post and run NukeLauncher. The guessing engine will take over and match up the proper order and write out the three variables to you INI. Keep us posted on how it goes. And good luck.
