lost when it comes to mapping joypad

hi there gamex is looking good, so good i registered and plan to use it as my media centre of choice:D

as the topic title suggests, ive run into a problem with mapping my joypad - a logitech cordless wingman which should be perfect for use with a media centre.

i have found the custominput.ini and even looked at the Scancodes.txt but dont know what to add to the jostick section. I want to be able to use the left shoulder buttons to

insert coins in mame and escape from mame back to gamex

and the right shoulders to increase and decrease volume although there is the slider which might be cooler for this allowing right shoulders to be used for 1 or two player

can anybody with a cordless wingman help fill in the blanks below or paste/attach your custominput.ini files

Hi, If you wanna use those buttons in MAME only, that has nothing to do with GameEx. Run MAME, open up the configuration within MAME (if you haven't changed it, it's the [TAB] button on your keyboard.

Go to:

[input general]

[user Interface]

"UI Cancel" -> Set this to the button you will use to escape from MAME back to GameEx

When this is set, press it once to go back to the [input general] menu:

[other controls] set "Coin 1" -> the button you input credits with.

Done.

The volume slider, is that for volume in MAME or in GameEx? If it's for use in MAME, I'm not sure wether you slider is supported, but if it is, I still think that you would have to press a button assigned to bring up the volume menu first, so it's really no way of just dragging a slider to change in game volume as far as I know.

Hi, sorry, GameEx currently has no support for a slider.
