i just got a new set of complete chds and roms with version .118 mame. I have a slikstik quad and now the sedttings don't work the same in mame as they do in game ex... Is their a config file I have to re-do?

Example.. Artwork off in mame but it displays in game ex.. "=" key is fire button in mame but not configured in game ex.. The show game info screen is "off" in mame but I can't get it to turn off in game ex..

Thanks for any assistance....

In the advanced gameex config located in the programs group in start menu.. Goto mame settings and turn off Use bezel. (this will get rid of the artwork.)

= key is fire? This can be reconfigured by pressing TAB and going to input settings.

What do you want this to do in Gameex...Surley the is no firing in gameex itself.. If you want it to say be the select button. Then goto the input settings and enable custom keyboard controls... look up the virtual key code for = . And define it for the action you want it to be...

If Iam misunderstanding please correct me and will will go from there.

Hope this helps

Build .118 introduces some issues with GameEx that havn't been addressed yet. The new input system means that GameEx can't automatically skip the disclaimer screens anymore. You will need to find the 118 patch on here and use that instead (the patched versions of Mame is a more efficiant way to skip disclaimer anyway)

Some keycode constants have changed to support multiple keyboards and mice which means you may need to delete some cfg's and recreate them. I havn't had much of a chance to find exactly what needs to be done yet. As more people upgrade to it I expect more posts about this.

Also just extending on what Brian was saying about setting up the keys in GameEx. If you go to the Setup Wizard (Start->Programs->GameEx->Setup Wizard->Custom->Keyboard Input). You can press the keys to change the input rather than need to look up the VK keycode.

Thanks for the patch link...

What I meant regarding the key mapping was they were different in mame stand-alone and mame inside game ex... Also, anyone know how to map keys in Zinc for a slikslik.

Again, thanks for all your help & Brian your demo on installing daphne was great...

Is there a patch for mame32?

Just wanted to let everyone know that my daphne problem was a commnad line error... I would recommend viewing Brian's You Tube Tutorial as that made the most sense.

Thanks to all.
